Tripleduece50 and I hit the south end and boated 9 landlocks. All riggers and no takers on flasher/fly. Must be lakers are spawning? Water temp was 54 on surface. Green dolphin spoon was hot.

I have to say that the new life preserver law stinks. I need to buy a nice and comfortable one I guess.

Just buy a bigger boat and and that will take the new law out of it

We took our 24' Wellcraft Walkaround out of there a couple times in September. (See photo). The first time there I asked a couple guys, (knowing what I know now, probably Splitshot and RustyRat), how it looked to them as I was a bit concerned. Of course, not their boat, so no problem, just keep your rods down. We get to the bridge and I thought my wife was going to jump ship If we had a hard top we would have become a convertible. The second trip out it was choppy heading back in, and being a new skipper I must admit to fearing the boat's windows would be in trouble if we strayed too far from center. It'll be a long time before I try it in the dark, if the fish are South we'll launch Deans and do a long boat ride.

I know some Trophy's look tall in the center console, but how it compares to ours I do not know. One thing for sure, when you get to that bridge keep your head down.

Now that's the way it should be worked out!! no name calling, no rude finger jesters, no flare guns.

When fishing around other boats it is bound to happen. We should all just keep our kool and remember that most of us will not intentionally cause problems for other boaters.

mike, there is a big fish derby being held out of Meyers point this week end . if your gonna fish for bass or trout for that matter, think about getting into it. 15 bucks to enter 5 bucks for lunker pool. as far as help with were to go i'm not a bass fisher so i can't help you there, other than i have only ever caught one small mouth in the lake and that was on a flat line,early spring above the boy scout camp. rollie

Thanks Rollie. I know about the tournament this weekend. We are still deciding since my son can only fish 1 day and we're wondering if it's worth it since we haven't done very well the past 2 weeks. I hate to only be able to fish 1 day in a 2 day tournament. We might do it anyway though

We fish out of Fingerlakes Marina on Cayuga Lake and have only trolled for lakers, LLs, rainbows and browns. We would like to mix it up a little and try some fishing for bass and perch. I know most don't want to give away their favorite holes, and I don't blame them, but can someone put us on some likely areas for some bass and perch....types of bait to use...water depth...area and structure most likely to hold these fish etc.... Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
