  1. One thing I do notice about flatlining this time of year...sometimes the bite does not heat up until the sun has hit the water for a few hours and got the fishes metabolism going. stickbaits rule this time of year and stay fairly tight to shorelines. I pull them from 5-6 feet of water at times and usually no more than 20 or so feet.
  2. Regarding the BFullers..... Just curious as to what size spoons you guys would recommend. I know the mags closer to the fall time but mid-summer? One size down? Also....I am used to running NK's alot but what would be the top 5 colors and sizes for the BFullers? Just needing some "Go to" lures for the lake. Hopefully the Canadian side likes them as well. (especially since alot of the fish are wanderers from the US side)
  3. Pickering generating station has a few big sows. All my walleye from there have been at the outflows especially the west one. The west one is a sand bottom and in the winter (the time the walleyes are there) it is only accesable by cartoppers hauled across the sand. the outflow is shallow and sandy with random sparse weeds (yes in the winter...as the water there is warm year round) Big straight rapalas trolled at night are the ticket there. actually if there is no wind or very slight north wind you can paddle the canoe for them. Colder snaps seem to draw more fish out of whereever they come from normally. Survival suit is a MUST!!! Night time/ canoe/ freezing water = danger if you are not really careful. It is the most amazing thing though to hook into a big smallmouth in February and have it jump 3 or 4 feet in the air. Also weird but common....when your hands get cold you hold them in the water a few mins to warm up. How bizarre is that!
  4. yeah it was pretty odd....we even saw 10 or so fish jumping. Got totally sunburned too. clear water, no wind, sunny skies and fish right on the surface...very weird!

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:5 hrs Weather/Temp:sunny and mid 20's C Wind Speed/Direction: 20kms south Waves: 0-1 foot Surface Temp: 63 degrees Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 Total Boated:9 Species Breakdown: kings and bows Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.3 kms Down Speed: Boat Depth: 80-130 Lure Depth: 5-30 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== All kinds of small kings and bows....nothing over 6 lbs still lots of fun though. fished out of Forans Marina in Grimsby, around the environment canada bouy. surface trolled ripplin redfin in gold/black took some, the rest came on NK28's silver/blue, silver/green, and yellow/orange Water was crystal clear so it was odd catching them on the surface in sunny flat water. We even was several fish along the boat in the clear water. Bows were especially acrobatic today.
  6. take a rod for sure but warning....cops are on the water big time for this long weekend. Checking licences and safety equipment. They also check for your boat operators card. fishing is fun but getting dinged for a fine really smarts! My buddies are still picking up some fish up high in the water. 20 or so feet down, over deeper water. Not sure if you are running riggers or not, but a good sinker will get you down to some fish.
  7. I'm thinking Foran's have taken ALOT of 50 points launch customers...please give us your thoughts on the ramp
  8. afterschools......Foran's marina is 2 more exits further east off the QEW niagara bound. They will let you launch before normal hours as there is no gate...they simply get you to pay once you get off the water. Boat launch and parking is 12.00 Launch is really nice...concrete with a quick drop off for bigger boats. Also it is nice and protected. I gave up on 50 point marina due to the cost and the fact you cannot launch until the park opens at either 7 or 8 am (cannot remember which it is) hopefully will save you some $$$ -John
  9. Man that is weird for Pickering to be cool...wonder what is up with that? OOPS sorry I missread that...I though you had typed 46 instead of a 64.

  12. Nice to see some cohos showing up tyeetamer. I will be running the same lures on wednesday...they always seem to produce. sounds like the waves were a bit choppy for you.
  13. Great fish Tony. With the cold weather, the fish should stay close for a bit too. hopefully I can get out on Wednesday.
