  1. I have 200 yard...( 20 colors ) on both of my lead core rods....Only place I can find 200 yard spools is Cabelas....18 lb. test has the same weight lead as 27;;;36;;;or even 45 lb. test....But the 18 lb. is smaller circumference and will fit on smaller reel....I have one Penn and a Big Cabelas reel ....They will hold 200 yd....I use 27 lb. because of Lake Ontario trips...25 lb. test flouro leader of about 25 feet ...tied on with an Albright knot...Seven colors on Lake Ontario will catch the Steelheads in July

  2. A few years ago...Our boat.engine ..( 350 gm...King Cobra out drive.) started " making 'milky' oil "....Showed about 3 inches over the full mark....Took it down to Gene Moores and the starboard manifold had a hole rusted through on the inside...allowing water into the right bank of the motor....It wasn't cracked or broken....just rusted through :(

  3. I was a long haul trucker for 45 years....Most ' truckers ' today are nothing but " steering wheel holders " They know NOTHING about rules of the road or common courtesy......But they passed the CDL test...So that says they are " professionals "....If you believe that...I have a bridge you can buy....cheap....Same goes for 'boaters " ...Their ' license ' doesn't make them a safe or knowledgeable boater.....This is one more New York money grab... :@:@

  4. I use 27 lb. on Cayuga and tie on about 20 feet of flourocarbon leader with an albright knot....I buy my lead core at Cabelas in 200 yard spools....Gotta have a big reel to get it all on...For kings in Ontario ...I use 45 lb.. lead core and a 40 lb. leader.....Not much give to my lead core rods so the line takes all the strain.. 8)

  5. I use 27 lb. lead core on Cayuga with about a 20 ft. 25 lb. fluorocarbon leader tied on with an albright knot....I buy my line at Cabelas in 200 yard spools....Gotta have a big reel to get it all on.....For Lake Ontario I use 45 lb. and a 40 lb. leader ....when fishing for kings....Not much give to my lead core rods....so the line takes all the strain 8)

  6. The state controls the level of Cayuga....After last spring and summer high water and flooding....They are probably preparing for same this year...When I got to my summer home on April 29 last spring.....Treman launch parking lot was flooded ....Never saw it that high...I didn't fish two tournaments last year because of HIGH water

  7. I hope they are all gone ...Ever notice that when walleye were introduced ...the rainbow population dwindled...Same over at Otsego Lake ( Cooperstown )...Walleye are great if you enjoy cranking in a dead weight...By the way...I caught a couple two years ago in Owasco....while fishing for rainbow...I knew the minute they hit that they were either carp or walleyes......No action

  8. Get a VHF....Radio and 8 ft. antenna for less than $200.00 if you shop around...Small price for safety....and peace of mind...Also ...they have the NOOA weather channels...and a beacon in case the boat capsizes.....Fish just one day on Ontario and listen to the calls for Coast Guard on a windy day....Trust me you'll be glad you got one

  9. Fishing is Great on Cayuga....Kids grow up way too fast...Thankfully I was able to spend some quality time fishing with my son when he was growing up....He is fifty one and I'm just old....but the passion for fishing still burns in both of us....Hope to see you and you boys this summer
