Those perch still biting? Got some ole petes stuff the other day. Been dying to try. Unfortunately, visiting in chicago this weekend. Probably getout next weekend.

Amen to that. Always had a fun time catching perch on Lake Michigan during the fall. I havent perch fished since I got here a 3 summers ago. Nice to get some perch, have a fun time, and a good meal.

No, I keep driving kgone nuts with my preference towards tin, and big tin. Its decent on gas, and offers a ton of safety, a key item in my mind. I am not running 40 MPH in 2 to 3 footers. I am doing better than high teens though. Never once have I felt at a disadvantage to the elements. Or have I experienced loose screws and bolts.

Now, I have bailed on a few fish catching situation sensing the eminent storm. When it snows in buffalo, I get up an hour early to get to work on time. So my execution is sometimes lacking, but my timing is right on.

That being said between Kgone and Gavin, I have been spending a lot of time in a ranger 621. If I go glass, its gonna be a ranger 621 (or if I find one with low hours and close to mint, a 1895 Storm Single Console with the 225 Optimax). That chine is fine!

Downside its 21foot long and has a wide ass, not the best smaller water rig. Trailering aint bad, but its work and its not cheap (ram gets 7mph).

I think its time for a second boat! HA... a nice 18 foot late model lund pro v.

So after a 30lb King, a 14.6 Walleye and an 18lb Brown Trout, he says "Id like to catch a musky...". And with the horseshoe stuck us his you know where......I gotta a pretty good vibe!

Wondering what kinda rig (probably a bait caster on a medium/to heavy 7 foot rod), some 80lb powerpro, a couple of feet of 100lb flouro, and a decent barrel (king salmon like) swivel.

What kinda lead heads and body baits should I look at?

Anyone have an opinon of trolling a super thurnderstick for musky? Dive curve says 4 to 8 feet. Havent used one. But seen a couple in the local bargain bin for cheap ($. Figured its worth getting a couple and given it a shot. Smelt or shiner color of course for here in the eastern part of lake erie. Maybe perch?

That's a good point. Is this really the start of something long term, or just a typical 2-3 year cycle ending? It has been very, very dry. The levels would certainly be higher if an "average" rainfall hit the midwest and western east coast(ohio, pa, ny).

Wave power indeed. I spend a LOT of my time in the 3000 to 3200 powerband.

Had a good morning today, before the wind started kicking up and that "sailboat" of a rig of mine was tossed all over. Didnt have my anchoring solution in place, so drifted a bit. More sorting today. They seemed to like the small minnows best, though the dead stick roach in the mud produced too.

No opinion on the divers. I havent used them much for walleyes.

See a few guys trolling out side the perch pack west of sturgeon. Seen one fish pulled in 70FOW or so.

Well, we made the run and it didnt disappoint. Plenty of perch. Got a few up to 14 inches. Fat ones. Beautiful day on the water. All baits hit, minnows, crawfish, leeches and worms. Even perch eyes.

67 to 69 FOW of sturgeons. Well, west of sturgeons. Dont know exactly where I was at. Have waypoints if needed.

Ok, running out of the small boat harbor on Sat. Have some friends out of town. No canadian licenses. Can I make the run to cattaragus deep water and back with no fuel issues. Pulling out of the harbor an issue. 52 gal tank, usually run 3200 RPMS...

All thats incorrect. If you are running the canadian line, eg under power and not stopping, you should be ok.

If you stop in canadian waters, not intending to stop at shore, eg, yacht club, etc, you need to CANPASS. I have not waited for my canadian number for more than 1 minute. Very fast.
