  1. haha, nice jack. Nope. Was gonna run it for salmon, but you got me thinking. Thanks for the tip on senace with the jigs. We pounded the smallies up to 4 lbs on em. Kids loved it! Especially when they get airborn.

Gonna run out deep this saturday...May run the torpedo and jets. Snaps work for me, but wondering if the other presentations matter.

Ball fishing been tough for me. Usually a 20 foot lead, but its been quiet on the ball front. Havent sparked up the lead core, but thing I may this weekend. Grabbed the B&B bait box, so have a bunch of reefies.....may run that hook program this weekend.

Any who.....hows the spoon bite been.....any action?

  2. We have had great luck running the fence deep off abino and the condos. That hasnt been the issue. Inshore though, has been tough for us. A few here, a few there. We have been working the fence close, and deeper off the hump on windmills, but slow goin. Same program with meat. About to switch over to cranks and give it a go..

  3. Nice report Jimski. Guess I gotta get the kids up earlier, or head out in the evening. Shorthanded said the same thing. We still had a good time. Been waiting to run hooks for a bit, so now its time. Any play with the spoon bite yet?

  4. We should of run to the deeper water but worked the 35 ft depth off the windmills. Good marks, no biters. Move to 45 feet by canadian line and same thing. Ending up smallie fishing on seneca shoal. 5 smallies, all 2 to 3lbers. Kids loved it! We were draggin jigs with full crawfish on em. They were smackin em. Ended up at woodlawn for a refreshing swim. Home by 1pm. And damn its hot!

  5. Slapshot, absolutely. Good numbers, though smaller, eg sub 20 inch fish, off the windmills. Run meat near the bottom. Set up a spot and troll.

Otherwise, get some crawfish and work meyers reef. More smallies than anything, with the occassional walleye.

Run out to 62 or better feet, of the canadian line (fence) between abino and sturgeon. Get deep though, we were running a couple of feet off the bottom. Better fish 5+ lbers on harnesses (meat) at 1.5 in either watermelon or chart.

On channel 68 tomorrow for a few hours in the am. Good luck

  6. I dunno. Once they got rid of that sweet gal at the front desk, I was worried.

I run 2 hds units, and my old standby, lcx 104. All work great. I dont know what I would do if the lcx died. Very particular about my locators. Not ready to jump to the birds. But customer service has to get better.

  7. Nice work John. I ran some renosky stickbaits on Sat and was unimpressed. Usually they pop, but it may be the class of fish. I run the sticks outside of the windmills in buffalo, and they pop. Elsewhere, no dice. And I am finding watermelon harnesses, although tough to beat, and ending up on one rod for me. Pink and chart are getting play, especially with colored backs. Colorados, but smaller, like 5's

  8. Yep, nice work Kevin. Shouldhave hollared at your first. Got a few dive curves.

Now I know the jets are productive. But I can get down to 40 feet with my 3oz snaps with less line. Pickin up my riggers this week. I want to start running balls deep, and figure the jets can only add to the fun! The buoyancy is an issue with the snaps. I stall or do a crazy ivan, and I am grinding the mud. I figure the jet will float givin me added bonus time in the strike zone.

Did pick up my first copper rig (thanks shorthanded). So ready to hit some kings soon.
