  1. Today, while waiting out the thunder storm, I read the signs posted at the Bemus Point launch. One of them said "to save a fish, cut your leader." Assured you the hook would dissolve and the fish would be fine. WRONG. Anybody have any pull with the NY DNR (or whomever is responsible for that sign)???? How about if we do a fund raiser to have new signs printed and posted at the launches, that say "Save a fish, Cut your hook!" I know we know better, but the non-musky fisherpeople don't. Can we take that sign down without going to jail???
  2. Capt. Larry and Zach, These guys don't have any idea what they missed out on. I got the lures in the mail yesterday, and I'm overwhelmed (I'm never speechless). The workmanship and finish on these lures is without equal. It's going to be hard for me to put them in the water, as I don't want teeth marks on them! But, I will fish them, and they will get bit! Zach and Mr. Stan Durst should be running classes on lure making and painting. They truly have to be seen to be appreciated. And I appreciate them! Thanks again Zach, Mr. Stan Durst, Capt. Larry, Old Man, and every one that participated in this project! Ray J
  3. Capt. Larry, Sorry about your luck!!!!!!!!!!!! Got ya by .01 !!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the bids. Muskies win.....
  4. With just a couple of hours to go, it looks like it totals out at $340 and change. Not bad. We should do this kind of thing more often! Great Job Zach! Way to step up 'Old Man'! Terrific job inspiring them, Capt. Larry!
  5. Not for long, Capt. Larry.... That other package is mine...... If you want it, take the lead on the $198.45 package, if the "Old Man" will let you! Ray J
  6. Zach, Are you selling these out of your house too, or do I have to go to the Happy Hooker to get one? Thanks, Ray J
  7. Capt. Larry, How is the tourney registration going? Close to 100 yet ??? Thanks, Ray J
  8. Zach, Please don't take offense to me calling you the 'Master', but you are the only one I know of that has used the Musky Rockets, qualifying you as the most knowledgeable fisherman I know of. My problem is I have about 20 baits that have one musky to their credit, and no baits with more than two. Always looking for that majic bait. I fished with Larry on Chautauqua at the end of June. He had 4 baits out and on one the lip came loose (after landing a fish) so he swapped it out for a new one. Bottom line 6 fish caught on 5 different Hi-Finn Trophy Divers. I appreciate the info on the Rockets. Looks like I'm going to order a couple of Jointed 7" lures w/o rattles. I've always been partial to a Black Sucker pattern and a Jail Bird pattern, so I think I'll have him paint them special. Thanks for all the info, and Keep up the posts! Ray J
  9. Zach, Since you are the master of Musky Rockets, I need to know....... 6", 7", or 8", straight or jointed, and with or without rattles? I don't want a complete collection(I don't have the $3,000), I'm just going to buy a couple (at least, for now) and I want to get it right. Thank you, O' Musky Rocket Master,
  10. Leaders about 2/3 the length of the rod. Big swivel on the end of the Lead Core to catch as much of the weeds as it can, and keep lures clean.
  11. Nitro, I copied this from Capt. Larrys web site: The NY DEC in Albany,NY made a change in the type of food pellets to start the musky fry on to save money.By the time the hatchery personel found out they were not eating the new pellets and they got the old style pellets to the hatchery they lost most of the musky fry.Water temp had nothing to do with the die off.The NY DEC is trying to find another state that may have extra musky fry to trade for other fish spieces fry.
  12. That's what I was thinking...... Actually, Capt Larry knows his stuff, and has the stuff. Even if I new where and how fast and when, it'd cost me more to buy 4 more reels and rig with lead-core and buy the lures than it cost to go with MostlyMuskies.
  13. 6 fish in the boat. Should have been more. If Capt. Larry would have kept my son, Brock, away from the steering wheel, we would not have had that major line tangle (all four lead-core lines) and we would have had at least 1 more hour of fishing. And, if Capt. Larry would have reminded me to keep my rod tip down, the biggest fish of the day would not have been lost. Clearly his fault.
  14. Capt. Larry, My wife was thinking We-Wan-Chu, and made other reservations knowing we already had 2 spots in the tourney paid for. At least the tourney fees go for a good cause!
  15. Lee, Way to step up and do the right thing! I like mine grilled to 'medium well'! With those Rare Kowalski Wiley's you'll have the tournament won by then anyhow! Unfortunately, I won't be able to enter my plows in the tournament as my wife has made other plans for us. So you have a great chance to "cash in" without my plows in the competition. Watch out for Nitro's plow!
  16. Well done, Mr. Nitro !!!!!!!! Thank you for stepping up !!!!
  17. It's been wayyyyyy too quiet, around this post. Don't they realize we're within two hours of finding out who gets the 4th plow? What happened to Zach? Nitro, do you need me to bid this up to a respectable number for you? You're hardly covering the retail price and postage. What about food for the poor baby muskies? Those fish are counting on you!
  18. I know what you mean. So many auctions going on, bids here, bids there, I've been having trouble keeping them straight too! I had 13 bids on that 3rd plow, just bidding it up to a respectable number. Bid on that 4th plow 16 times. Haven't really had time to focus on work last few days! We need to get this done so we can go fishing, and occasionally do some work too.
  19. Nitro, Looks like you have a problem. Somebody bid your plow up and your autobid hit $99.99. That's the most you can pay and not qualify for the perchbait jr. Good luck with that!
  20. It's awfull quiet on these auctions. Doesn't anybody have any money left? Nitro, How high did you go on the 4th Plow? I bumped it up a couple times, but I really can not afford to end up with many more. I bumped your "Very Rare Wiley Kowalski" up a couple of times, too (on Joe M's auction.) Maybe if I end up with that one, you will have more to spend over here! (It's for a good cause.)
  21. Don't worry, Capt. Larry. I'm sure we have plenty of time to get them well over $100. A hundred bucks sounds cheap after what Lee and I paid. And with Nitro, Zack, and Bob running around with a pocket full of money, we'll get there in no time. Anbody else bidding?
  22. So, did Lee end up getting both of the Rare Wiley's ??? I just had to bid on another plow to balance my boat, and keep it going straight!
  23. Lee, You wouldn't happen to quietly have the top bid on both of the Wileys, would you? I bid the cheap one up a couple of bucks, just to see what would happen. I was overbid, and it looks like your handiwork! Do you plan on being the only one on the lake catching big fish, by cornering the market? Good luck with that! Or, if I'm mistaken to whomever gets it.
