  1. I know that this is 3 weeks after the fact, but something that should be considered is oil dilution. A few yrs ago a friend had a marine 454 that the Carb Float had sunk on. In the early stages it is like yours, just dripping over the wall of the carb and would foul the plugs with rough running and black smoke being the results.. As it got worse, fuel ran into the intake and flooded the cylinders running past the rings into the crankcase diluting the oil. Gas is a lousy lubricant. And a crankcase full of it is even worse. I would strongly recommend that the oil be changed especially if it is reading over the full mark on the dipstick. This guy was lucky and the motor was still in warranty and he got a complete crate engine from Merc Cruiser. Frank
  2. Thanks Justin. I did purchase 2 of them earlier this year. Have mot tested yet. Most of the views that I saw before buying were GL fisherman. Some that even won the LOC. II was just hoping for someone using them now.
  3. Has anyone here experience with the Z-Wing DR weights?
  4. I know this has to sound like a "Noob" Question? Well it is for me....As far as the boating aspect goes anyway. I see this mentioned all the time on here. What is a "Tourney Rig"? I see the rigs that are being used with trolling flies and Hoochies. But how are they made and what is the distance between the hooks?
  5. Because it is a 4 hour drive from down in the Mid Hudson valley to anywhere on the Eastern end of Lady O, it isn't always "Goin Fishin, see ya at dinner time" type of affair to go up fishing. We that lurk and watch do so with envy in our hearts. You folks that live close to the lake, have it made to a point. And no I hate snow enough to not move up there just to go fishing So we lurk and ask questions. I'll get off the box now.....
  6. And after reading three more posts, the answer slapped me in the head. Thanks a bunch for the reply. The will be more questions trust me.
  7. Name: Frank AKA-Macdragon Location: Home water is the Hudson River. Home Port:Kingston NY Boat Name/Type: Fisher 18', Outboard I fish for: Stripers, Trout, Salmon, and whatever else I can snag. ================== From casual observation I see that quite a few of the reporters here are charter captains. I've fished the big O off and on for years. But it has been years since I've had a boat of my own to attempt to do so again. I am hoping to get up there in the fall for the annual run. While reading the other posts I see terminology I don't understand. such as FOW? Can someone clue me in please?
