  1. i was in there today, sorry i forgot to look.

i did see spin doctors and flashers..

FUNNY: i asked the dude there if there were any (fish) fighting belts..

cause i didnt see any and i was in a hurry to get back to the car cause dogs were in there..

he says to me... turning and walking away.." thats for salt water..." shaking his head as he walked away..

    ... i said...'lake ontario doesnt have salt!'....

see i just registered for LOC derby.. and WHEN i catch that big monster...:$

i dont want the rod diggin inta me! 8)

when u call... try and get someone who knows something...

  2. I fished alone... with dogs... but found out how to do a TIMER on my cell phone camera!

small laker..60' 200 fow, on char. green spin dr green flash

    081711165934.jpg

my largest laker ..70' 300 fow, on purple spin dr w darker flash

that sucker gave me a hard time at the net!

    081711184147.jpg

my 2 salmon were at 50' in 90' FOW and at 90' in 300 FOW

both on purple and just under sized...

I would have kept a legal salmon...

All the fish went back in  ... took no prisoners! LOL...

Dogs were bored that last hour!

at sunset I went to pull lines and take a swim...but found tangle..:no::no:

    081711195756.jpg

But... by the time was was done with retreiving my tangle.. it looked like this...

    081711203410.jpg

I almost went swimming away!! I didn't want to LOSE to a tangle!!

But at least I got my stuff back :yes:

    save_tackle_8_17_11.jpg

oh.. btw I got really STUCK on bottom at the point.. ran too shallow just south..

I cut the engine, reteived the line I could and then got right over the catch...

and couldn't figure out how to pull the line...

its not like a spinning reel which is easy to hold tight.

So I wrapped the tight line around the net handle 3 times and pulled hard trying to break the leader...

It came off  and I had my tackle attached :clap:

    over and out 8)8)

  3. Wow whata day on the water yesterday!!

    Little S wind, SUNNY..

Filled with fish, adventure and chaos!!

I got my wire lines tangled just as the sun was setting!!

Ugh!! I lost 70' and 180' off two reels of 1000', so I'm still ok...

Then I bring the boat into Long Point Cayga ramp and the street light is "out"!!

    Then my little flashlight died!

At least I know how to work in the dark!

I didn't want to hook up my emergency light cause it would draw too many bugs!!

    I got 7 fish ( 6 onboard ) which is Fab!!.. for 3pm to 7:30...

Then they cut off... but I figure the last hour I was dragging around that tangle...

NOTICE::: if you pull out in the dark..

there is light on either end of the -ticket- building up near entrance...

It is not visable from the ramp...

You can pull up there to see the the heck yer doin!

    4 Lakers and 2 salmon, 1 hit

West shore right off Sheldrake at 150-350 FOW

Between 50-90'... they were just hitting everything, every depth yesterday.

Got the largest Laker at 70' on purple spin dr and dark flasher (28.5" 8lb)

What a horrible feeling... lost at sea... ;(;(;(;(

I have an elderly little Papillon... and when I'm underway

I put the orange life jacket to him...

Too many times, I would glance around and say..."where's Alvin!"

only to find him in his crate..

Sometimes old dogs get confused.. like dementia...

and ya never know when he is gonna decided to go off the back....

Thank God.. you have yours safe...:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

    DSC03853.jpg

ok.. enough of this... I gotta go thro the lil motor on the lil boat and get fishing...

    :yes::yes::yes::clap::clap::clap:

  7. Questions:

    please..

Do I need registration in hand or is it ok to just be registered?

    I live 1.5 hours away...

I see that I have to register in person or mail...is there no way to register online?

If I put in at Long Point and drive boat to Myers with a fish...

Is there a place to moor? or anchor and wade into shore??

I may be fishing alone.. so it is a tad harder w the logistics...

I work 24 hrs (until 8am That morning, then it takes a couple hrs to get there)

If I am up all night...I'd prolly be too tired to even go..

and would forfit the entry fee..

    thanks..

    Carolyn

  8. funny... those two pics are of me..

i changed into dry stuff later in the day...

    Wes.. better get out soon..

put money into fishing instead of therapy!

yeah, I wanna enter some tourney.

I usually get some money here and there when I fish the Atlantic..

and win a few bets.. on the rivers..between friends..

the fish Gods smile on me sometimes....

    :)

  9. 8) Put in at Long Point about noon.

Flat lake... overcast.. some breaks of sun, some showers, and sun... wind changes... but mild..

Beautiful day out there...almost had the place to ourselves...:lol::yes::yes:

~for a Sunday.. that was GREAT!!

We did have a passing good shower but it was warm and we were in bathing suits..

so it was wicked beautiful and the fish were biting!

Trolled west shore south and hooked up imediately in 300 at 85 feet...

Green spin d w flys... Purple hit too,

Catching turned off for a couple hours then picked up again..

    Using blue/green spin d w flasher flys.

    Tried some spoons, no hits.

Large weed clumps here and there, very little fleas.

Hooked up 9, boarded 7. Two that got away were heavy and fought good enough to De-Hook!

    ~oh the ones that gottaway~ ;)

5 Lakers , nice size thru small... 2 salmon (one keeper)

Pulled the boat at 8:30pm.. sweet day...

and much easier with company...:yes:8)8)
