  1. Congratsa what a stud!
  2. The deer on my property pound them as soon as the green gets around the size of you hand. Definitely have to switch it up next year so I have food longer then 2 weeks in September.
  3. You were right! Definitely jinxed myself
  4. Very little action for me as well. Saw 3 flatheads. Once I waited long enough I decided I was going to take one. Picked out the one I wanted and settled in on her. Next thing I know they bolt!! I look up and say here we go, big boy is coming!? NOPE! instead it's the neighbor driving his truck through the field. Lol! Cant make this stuff up!
  5. Just settled in , was able to sneak in pretty stealthy. Have not hunted this side of the property in a while. Tracks all over so I know there are deer that indeed do live here. I dont know why but for some reason I just got a weird feeling...... so weird I dont know if I want to shoot a doe now. Time will tell....m
  6. Yes, January
  7. Only saw a small buck this morning. Why is it when your trying to kill a doe, a mature one will not give you a shot??? Took tonight off even though I didnt want to. Oh well, hopefully I can sneak out of work this week to try and get something killed. Hopefully Ohio treats me better then New York has this season and I can put something down there.
  8. Slow so far, one first rack is all. Squirrels are all over on the move. Very little shooting and nothing even close. Fingers crossed for a doe, I'm hungry!
  9. Good day to be in your stand all day if you know every one will be pushing
  10. And just like that, switch flipped and deer all over
  11. Surprisingly no deer spotted yet. Usually they are Always moving here..... hmmmmm
  12. Just settled in. Good chance I may take a doe this afternoon, maybe even 2. In a spot that it shouldn't be a problem as the deer love it in here. Almost brought my bow to try and be stealthy, but that's when a buck comes bye at 60 yards. Smoke pole made the trip instead.
  13. One deer
  14. I shoot CVA Acura V2 topped with a Nikon Inline XR BDC scope, with 290g Barnes with 120g of Blackhorn powder. Absolutely love everything about the whole setup! Only gun I use all season. Only one deer tonight, snuck behind me and never got a good look at its head. Tomorrow will be doe day!
  15. Hunting in the thick stuff tonight, fresh tracks all over. Only problem is the wind wont make up its mind. Was covered up with flatheads a week ago in here. Hopefully theres a big boy around to come sniff them out. Will be on doe patrol tomorrow.
  16. Right around 2 miles
  17. Not sure about scoring as I dont personally know the guy who killed him. I know where he was killed and lives and would love to see him in person as this deer means more to me then most could imagine. But that's the way it goes, these deer dont hide behind fences and that's what makes it so special when you punch one. By constantly going over trail cam pics and the pics of him when he was harvested I would say high 150s as an 8 point. RIP "Ocho"
  18. Well unfortunately this year is not my season! Chased two particular bucks this season. One giant that was killed October 19th. The other I've been chasing for the last 3 seasons. Even more so this season! I've sat all day in the worst weather imaginable multiple times just to put eyes on this deer. Put my whole season in one basket along with my heart and sole! Then tonight I get the call! Hes dead!!! Then the picture was sent to seal the deal. Congrats to the hunter who was able to harvest a true monarch. Sick to my stomach but know I have to move on. Sucks!!
  19. Atta boy Tommy! Congrats!
  20. Sidelined again, man this work thing sucks!
  21. I tell my wife when I exceed the number of $100 pairs of shoes she has we can revisit this...... until then shhhhhhhh!
  22. 5 doe zero racks, this season has been the roughest on seeing good bucks
  23. Good stuff!
  24. Congrats Dan! Definitely deserved!
