  1. I have the Smart Tab pro tollers on my boat, I put them on to solve a porpoise issue while on plane. They have solved the problem and added the option to slow the boat down while trolling. I have an 18 ft Starweld.

  2. Made our annual trip up to Fairhaven last weekend. Friday had us skunked as well as alot of other boats. Saturday we changed up and hooked up with 5 fish hot lure was watermellon stinger down 4 back 75 around moon beach in 9ft. Sunday was bad as most boats abandoned the lake due to these little black flies all over everything we were able to hook up with a decent size brown using a carmel dolphin stinger down 10 back 75 on the edge of the deep impression to the east of the chute. Fortunately we had these hats with screens on them so we didnt have to deal with flies around our heads. Monday brought some wind but not much fish. We were able to avoid being skunked as my buddy pulled out an Atlantic Salmon on the last rod as we were pulling everything in to head home. Hope to head back up there soon.

    Tight lines everyone!

  3. While recently setting up my leadcore I found that tying the Big Game 20lbs test mono to the micro swivel to be difficult, the line is thick and doesn't cinch down as nice as I would like even while lubricating it with saliva. The first few tries you could see some damage to the main line while it was cinching down which I wasn't happy with.

I recently saw a tip on one of the WFN fishing shows which was to rub some chap stick on the line before tying the knot.

This made a huge difference in cinching the knot down, tight and clean!

Can't wait to get out there and try these out.

  4. I was thinking about setting up a couple of short cores for spring as well, anyone know how much backing I can put on an Okuma Magda pro 30dx for say 3-4 colors?

Also has anyone used a loop to loop connection for the backing to core instead of the willis knot so that you can make a quick change in the size of the core?

I have 27lbs suffix lead core and 10lb Big Game mono.

    Thanks

  5. I purchased mine on Amazon but im in the US im sure they'll be happy to send to our Canadian friends. I have them installed on my 18 ft Starweld they work great to stop the porpoise effect and slow things down for trolling.

  7. Last week I used my power drive with iPilot while using my yammy 115 to troll. Worked great as long as the wind wasn't too bad. Landed quite a few fish with me and my buddy in the back of the boat while the iPilot kept things running straight. I used the compass direction not the GPS which seemed to work better.

Last Thursday it was so windy just couldn't use it.
