  1. Jeremy - I had to upgrade from my Lowrance Gen1 HDS5 to HDS9 Gen2 to drive the auto pilot, pretty sure it wont run off your Elite Ti7, but might be worth a call to Lowrance. I run the Lowrance autopilot on a Yamaha 115 4 stroke with Seastar hydraulic steer. After its all connected and hydraulics bleed I did need to do a software update to my HDS9 Gen2 during the commissioning of it, got the download off the web at Lowrance site, and after that it was straight forward and worked ever since, I probably have a couple hundred hours on it and no issues.

  2. Left the bay and headed NW, set up in 100 with a three rod spread - 1 rigger down 100, running Die Hard spoon took 4 kings (skippy, #6, #6 and #10) fleas where horrific on the mono. 300 Copper with Atomic Melon took 1 king (#10). 240 wire with SD frog, Green Crinkle fly 1 king (#25+), 1 Laker (#15). Trolled from 100 - 300 fow, screen was the best at 150fow - early bites with some nice waves, then went to calm by 9am and shut down. Have a good, safe weekend. Eric

  3. Guys - took it out for the first sea trial last night in I-Bay, there was a chop in the bay and I was impressed with it. I took it in/out of Stand By mode (manual vs auto) with no issues from both the GPS and override button. The system was quite for sure and adjusted my line often and stayed on line perfectly. This is my first experience with an autopilot, so can't give you much comparable thoughts. Installation on my small boat was not difficult except for space and layout - I cut an access panel and put the pump, network, computer and electrical in there. I did most all the install minus the electrical breaker and bleeding the hydraulics (that's a two man job for sure) - its doable to DIY. I did not see any interference on my sonar while in auto mode. One issue was when I first powered unit up to commission it, my new HDS9 could not find my autopoliot, after a couple calls to lowrance we finally got it resolved my software was v4.0 and needed to be upgraded to v5.5, after that it went smooth. Lowrance tech support was average, I build and support software for a living so I think they could be better. PM me if you have specific questions. I hope to have more thoughts when I start lake fishing asap. Eric

  4. Took a quick afternoon trip out of I-Bay with a friend that's recovering from health issues. We headed NE out of bay and started to set up in 130FOW. We ended up 3/9 and just had a really hard time keeping them on. The spoon of the day was a Stinger Diehard UV - down 90, took 5 hits and landed 2 salmon, #25 and #8. 300 Copper with a Warrior Lemon Ice took a good shot and Kevorkian SD with A-Tom-Mic Green Crinkle out 280 - took a good couple rips and landed a #12 Laker. Just ran a three rod spread. My buddy finally got his Salmon, took all his strength to get it in, made the day!post-149446-14410338170962_thumb.jpg

  5. Well, I caught up with an old classmate of mine from Fairport HS, probably have not seen each other in 20 years and we have been planning to fish together for the past 2 years and Saturday was the day to catch up. We fished off Steve's boat (Triple S), as the guest, Steve (Lund SSS) set the plan to start out with some Browns and we went 6/8, Steve landed a 14lbs12oz for the board and we had some good smiles with that one. At 9:30 we decided to head to the King waters and we joined the pack that was already into them as nets where flying around. Steve set the rigger and no more then 5 minutes it took off and I grabbed the rod and started a great fight with a 27lbs15oz king - more smiles once it the deck. We fished all spoons and the colors where green/black/silver. I rarely fish on other boats but it was not only good to catch up but learn different stuff and set-ups - Thanks Steve!

  6. Fished from 5:30-8:30pm. Set up in 130fow east of the bay and trolled to 300fow and back. Running 2 wires, 1 rigger and a 5 core. The action for us was on the wires - 220 - SD/fly (white/green dot with 42nd fly) and 180 - (Green Nuclear with Green Crinkle fly) over 130-150fow - 2 kings landed (#8, #12) and lost a large king mid battle due to knot tying issue. Screen was good making bait and fish, but did have an hour of nothing in the 200-300fow, there was one other boat next to us out deep and they where hooking up at a good rate, just not us. Probe on rigger down 52ft was from 56 degrees to 49 degrees out deeper, but the kings where hitting in the 54 degrees area for us.

  7. Left the bay at 5pm, set up in 70fow heading NE. At 150fow got a 12lb Laker on a wire out 180 with an orange ladderback Carbon 14. At 160fow got a 10lb Laker on the 5 core with a DW Superbread. Probe down 45fow read temps from 39 to 41.5 degrees. Went NE to 185fow and then back into the bay at 8:30. Lots of Cottonwood on the surface prepping me for the fleas. Peace.
