Went 5 for 6 yesterday. 4 nice kings and a real nice steelhead. Chartreuse and green worked best for us. Spoons took most. Best fishing was right at the end of the chute. The fog was real thick by the end of the day. Still thick this morning.

Nice to hear their are some kings coming into the shallow water again this year. We had a great time catching kings last spring. I guess they are liking eating gobbies after all.

The best lube for O rings is Jacks Lube. You can get it from Amazon. You shouldn't use petroleum based lubes on O rings. It breaks them down prematurely. I was informed about opening the probe also. I open my probe almost every trip. I noticed you do get some condensation in there so I just open it and let it sit in the cabin open till the next trip.

Thanks for the report. My buddies and I are coming up in 3 weeks. We are from southern PA so we don't get up there as often as we like. We are looking forward to joining you out there.

The schute has been the same for the 25+ years I've been going to Fair Haven. Everything needs repaired eventually. What will this do to the boat traffic this season?  Will they have to  close the schute to repair it?

Hi everyone,

I've had my eye on a 2006 Sea Pro 238 walkaround. I was wondering if anyone has one or if anyone has any knowledge about these boats. It has a 2006 Yamaha TXR 250 4 stroke on it with about 1400 hours. I've had I/O's for a long time now and not sure what to be concerned about or ask about this engine. The dealer has a report or print out from the engine computer he's sending to me with service records he performed on this unit. I would appreciate any input everyone has.

I thought the same thing treerat. Bought one last year and it made a world of difference. Finding the right temperature was so quick and easy. When you change trolling direction was the biggest surprise. You can get right back to the speed the fish are wanting so much faster. Even the wife noticed how much more info it provided and admitted it was worth the money. That should be proof enough.

It was a bit rough this morning but we managed to go 4 for 6 this morning. 3 king and one Coho. 3 we caught on meat rigs and the larger king on a ff off the dipsy diver. We were in 120-150 fow down between 55 to 70 feet.

Does anyone know how much backing to use on Okuma Convector 30's for 8 and also 10 color cores? I know I can load the leadcore and then fill the spool with backing and reel it onto another reel. Just thought someone might know and would save me a step.This will be my first time to fish kings in the summer. We have only fished the spring in the past.

We will be headed up to Fair Haven in 2 weeks. Can't wait.

Great Job!!! To all who helped out our veterans. I wish lived closer. I wish more people would step up and help out like you folks did. 

Been up for the last 5 day. Did well when we had a good mud line but now it's gone and and you have to put in the time. It's been a great year for the kings in close. As others have said 20-30 fow down 10-15 ft. We have taken 1 or 2 everyday. All the kings on spoons and most of the browns on spoons also. Be up through the weekend hopfuly the weather gives us a break.
