  1. caught three nice l.ls off the wall right in front of the marina @ sampson last week back to back after i gave up chasing wabbits, one of em was laying right on the wall..literally made a flub cast and i was reeling it in and i look down directly below me and this 4lb. l.l. attacks it with a fury....i never saw him toll my bait got within a few ft of the wall.......chrome and black sinking rapala stick bait on ultralight with 6lb test and a 15lb ultrafine 4inch wire leader.....just incase! all three fish jumped for me many times desperatly trying to shake the hooks out before i could reach down with my net to scoop em up!CRAZZZZY ENERGY in them lil terds

  2. idk bout all that.....i can drive down to naples and ive never payed double tax.......its always cheiper to go to the sorce......i find it unconceivable that a second hand dealer that had to buy from they will sell cheiper than they will.....R u shure u got the right sutton? im talking bout the original in Naples NY.....

  3. yea u guys kinda miss the big picture.....this has to do mostly witht the west coast where there are NO MORE SALMON and alot of other species are being ovverfished........because of overfishing by both commercial and public.........yea walmart is the devil but some people took this whole story and contorted it to make us all think theyr out to stop fishing....now come on....they have a sizeable fishing and hunting dept. and ur meaning to tell me they want to get rid of that profitability...i dont think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MAN IM PRETTY RADICAL BUT SOME PEOPLE TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL! tunnel vision i think ,everyones all so Against walmart but u know what ive seen even the most anti walmart people walk in the doors when they need somthing ,absolutly need it and all the other stores are closed........convenience is the beast that created that monopoly, lazy americans willing and ready to cut any corners they can to make their lives more convenient! and the percentage of people that dont give in to it is verrrrry low trust me.

  4. if you have a small john boat or deep v and a fishfinder......awsome....go downstream from the baitshop towards the canal and look for bends in the river.......anchor up inside the bends and jug fish for em or setup bottom rods with meat....lots of bigguns....often in the spring i catch them right under the dam too on fatheads riger near the bottom......ten or fifteen lbs isnt unheard out there......last year a drum was caught out there that missed the state rrecord by less than a pound!......that fishery is amazing b/c it eventually connects to the st. lawrence. so anything could be in there.......sturgeon,walleye,crappie,bowfin,garr,smallys, largemouth, perch, gills,bullheads,cats......prolly forgeting a few......at the right time of year with the right bait nething is possible.

  5. awsome article......yea im still 100% on my assumption...its a seeforellen......markings are nothing like a regular european brown.....when i pulled it outa the water it was so damn silver i swore it was a l.l. the dog mouth and the tail gave it away tho......idc what the dec says they are in the lake........to this day. ive seen other pics just nothing with ne size to it like mine.

  6. ohhh it definitly is........itwas silver as silver can be and the marking were nothing like a european brown which is "native" to these waters......i thawt it was a l.l. because of the markings and the chrome.....till i looked at the tail....squared out.......ive shown this and another pic to alot of guys and weve all come to the same consensus.......its a seeforellen.....ill bet a paycheck on it., or in my case an unemployment check cuz im laid off for the winter.

heres another pic up close....i kept the ol' boy cuz he engulfed my fly big time....had two sublegal l.l.s i let go that day dead drifting giant mealworms with the ultralight.....aes is a tresure trove if u know what they want!

  7. i run copper as well as dipsy and often try dipsys off both sides in the top stuff.......never get bites.....prolly on account of lack of confidence, knowledge and the right stuff....i have accudepth 27's cheip i know but effective.....25lb mono, not the most effective ive heard...and a couple of fiderent sized dipsys a clear smaller one and a fire tiger larger one....got a few flashers some peanut flys, big lake flies,u name it ive never got a bite....idk Y ????....but copper i can put out alone with a spoon and judge the amt out or run it with keel weights and pick up the speed while acheiving the depth and just slaughter nething i go over.......depending on where i run and with what.its not as accurate but it works....the browns love to chase things up the water column it seems as im retreiving my gear to check fo mussels so i tune in on that...L'Ls i can find when they are shallow near the drop offs chasing bait.....but the dipsy which i think should be a good tool i cant figure out.

  8. I like to pull copper...nothing more simple and hands on....and when u get one its a different feeling with your bare hands than it is with a rod and a drag system.....idk how else to explain....But, I like to fish with a keel weight, many different wieghts and shapes mostly in line...i tie the copper to a swivel, ballbearing is nicest, then braid 6ft to 12ft. leader.off the buisness end of the braid i put my keel weight.1oz. to 4oz. then my mono leader to my favorite flutter spoon or flatfish imatation......kills the lakers browns bows and l.l.s in the spring depending on where i pull it......ive tried cowbells with no sucess.....what other sucessful ways of running copper off the bare hands is effective but without too much drag......ne ideas???i was thinking flasher fly combos but i dont know what the most productive types and colors are....

  9. The new plasma spoons only come with trebles.......sucks cuz fixed single hook is the way to go...less fish lost and more spoons per rig......i have a few hundred of the hooks that match the ones on the suttons so in drilling a hole in the spoon and buying tiny S.S. hardware anr retrofitting them .......MINT ! 8)

  10. LOL....sutton is out. they havnt plated for over a year now....good luck with that prospect....most all of the marinas and bait shops on the FLakes are out......seneca in watkins is OUT.....i just bought all their single fixed hooks last week....Fish307.com sells the NEW SUTTON...plasma spoons must have bought rights to make em...same paper thin flutter spoons and some of my fav. numbers are identical..88, 66 etc. check em out.....unless sutton gets a new chrome plater there wont be any new ones for some time so hold on to em ...i got a few dozen and they are not fr sale,...

  11. ud be surprised.....last coupla years theres only beena few groups with dogs in there...and the place is so damn big they never beat all the brush....ive seen alot of em the last two years....f i can go in a limit out alone...walking.....a dog crew should be unstoppable! lol...gotta know where the good spots are tho...alot of my honeyholes are down by the lake and in the south end of the property near the new Veterans memorial graveyard.
