  1. man i just cant wait for spring and summer to begin!! i hate winter and i am having winter blues now... having purchased a new boat in september and right now having full stringers, floor replaced and the engine completely rebuilt and outdrive sealed up with new interior and just bought some downriggers yesterday (never fished with downriggers!!!) i am just to ancy to get out on the water!!!!!

hows everyone else feeling?!?! has anyone made any projects this winter to look forward to in spring time???

  2. kinda curious... with fishfinders/depth sounders i always read and hear that a depth sounder will not read as deep in salt water as it will in fresh water. how is the accuracy for both?

will it read just accuratly in salt as it does fresh? just that it wont read as deep??

  3. anyone know of any place that you can get a bigger piece of cutting board? i need a piece minimum or 30''x30'' and want a min. thickness of .250 (1/4''). looking for plastic ones - technically high density polyethlene. i would really like to find a place located in ontario but i will go stateside to buffalo area

  4. stone mountain and georgian aquarium - both in atlanta georgia

ruby falls i think in tennesee

    chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel

tail of the dragon in north carolina and tennesee i think

cherhala skyway around the same area

kennedy space center (VERY interesting) you wont realize how absolutly massive those things are until you see them in person!

boca raton for looking at all the extremely expensive masion and million dollar yachts (boca raton is richest part of florida)

  5. that may be an '87 but for everything that boat is equipped with that a very very reasonable price. looks like a very nice fishing boat and an all round boat. what kind of speed does that get with the 90hp e-tec being a 19.5 footer??

  6. i got an old mercruiser alpha MC-1 outdrive with the 3 button trim switch. i had heard you can use a momentary switch to convert it? im in the mids of restoring a boat and would like to get rid of the ugly 3 button switch and put a momentary toggle switch in place to help make it look cleaner, more modern and so the switch is new for reliability.

looking at this switch from basspro: http://www.basspro.com/Contura-Switches/product/23418/. The momentary on/off/momentary on. would this switch work? could this be wired in place of the 3 button mercruiser switch??

  7. if you dont mind i would like to share a story. if requested to be removed i have no problem doing so! in june of 2011 i made a solo trip to florida for a fishing trip. i had booked a charter with chips a hoy charters in boynton beach florida. he asked me if there were certain species of fish i would like to target and i told him the fish i would like to. we went out and he was able to pinpoint wrecks and certain xspots for specific fish and he had caught all of them that i was looking for except a wahoo even though we thought we had one on but snapped the line when i got over anxious and tightened the drag. he uses live bait or at least he did when i went with him. he also uses kite fishing which proved extremely effective. although my grandparents had a condo i wasnt able to use it at the time and with no where to cook it up he offered to come over to his place and he and his wife had cooked me a nice meal of the fish and gave me a couple beers. i could not ask for more of an honest guy who really knows whats hes doing. he has won a couple of sailfish tournaments. this is one memory that will NEVER fade for me!!

NOTE: he only offered me to his place im sure cuz i was alone, young and generous. dont know if i should be ''bragging'' i was invuted to his place so if anyone does go to him for a charter i would appreciate it not mentioned as i was told i was only person to ever to be invited let alone only person to ever rent out a charter alone.

so if your in the area give capt chip sheehan at chips a hoy charters!

  8. usally i go to florida as my gparents have/had a condo there (was just sold this year after 20 years :( i love saltwater fishing. aint no better! only crappy thing is though alot of the good species isnt 'usually' caught during winter months although sailfish and wahoo are still abundant in winter. the last fishing trip i did in florida was in june and that was an awsome trip! i flew down on my own and boarded chips a hoy charters in bonynton beach. class A guy!!! he caught me all the species i was targeting.

caught a 100lb sailfish a couple kings, bonita, few dolphin(mahi-mahi) amberjack, tile fish, had a tuna but was eaten by a bull shark near the boat, remorah etc. his rates arevery good! 795 for 8 hours aboard his 32 foot contender CC

  9. I am headed to the west coast to look at a 24' Hewes Craft Saturday. I am hoping that is my dream boat as it sure cost enough!

did a quick search on this one and it looks wierd but in a cool way lol i would definitly rock it. looks like it has alot of room but i do like the little 'room' for cover in storms and such. looks like it be fairly stable

  10. i mean within reason so nothing like a 5 million dollar yacht or a boat that transforms like the one in thunder paradise lol something realistic!

And then you post a pic of a $400K rig with triple 300's???? :o You gott'a be kidding me. ;):lol::lol:

The one I want is one that my wife would be willing to out on Lake Ontario on with me; with all care, maintenance, upkeep & storage taken care of by someone else. Something parked on the water where all I'd ever have to do is drive up to it, unhook it and go anytime we feel like it and never have to worry about getting back.

    ...dream on...

lol im not sure actually how much them boats are, i never looked one up cuz i know i would never afford one on my budget lol but it is a 'dream' boat that is reachable if you desperaty wanted to

  11. out of curiosity and something for fun whats your dream boat? and i mean within reason so nothing like a 5 million dollar yacht or a boat that transforms like the one in thunder paradise lol something realistic! choose only 1 or 2 boats in your dream.

ive always been a lover of center consoles. there simple, rugged, very spacious and with the t-tops and rods on the top are an awsome sight to me

would love either a fountain 38 or 36 contender with twin engines (triple is overkill imo) with probably either twin 300 optimax or e-tec. i prefer 2 strokes over the 4 just because they are more basic, less moving parts and less maintenance.

    pictures welcome :)
