    Walleye Magnet

Actually I figured it out on my own when I was on Oneida in early July. The so called "walleye magnet" is just spinners that are made locally. I saw some on a little display in the American Legion in Cleveland. They were nice if you don't make your own spinners but I make my own which worked like a "walleye magnet"! Haha!

    Walleye Magnet

I have seen several LOU members that target walleye mention using a lure called a "walleye magnet". Can anyone please tell me what kind of lure this is and where you get them? Thanks for the help.
  3. Thanks John! I hope some of that boat traffic subsides for ya. It can test ones nerve at times. I will be up 4th July week fishing out of Cleveland on north shore. Fishing should be pretty good by then. Good fishing to ya!
  4. Thank you for the info

    Oneida 6/8

Can anyone tell me what the water temps are recently? Also how is water clarity? Thanks
  7. Hey John what are the current water temps running? Thanks
  8. Amen to the bottom bouncing. I fish Oneida successfully every year this way. I bring all of my trolling gear with and never use it. I just happen to use spinners with 1-2 hook crawler harness. I control my speed from .5 to 2.0 mph around shoals and rock piles. Change depth till you start hitting fish. If you hit in same spot on several drifts then carefully anchor up and start casting Carolina rigged worms or jigs. Hope this helps out and good luck! I'll be on oneida during July 4 week on north shore. Can't wait!
  9. Hey beef300 nice job!! Thats a really nice catch you got there. I'm jealous that we didn't get a couple kings in the mix like you guys. I take it that was on board of your new Lund boat which looks nice in the picture.
  10. Hey Beef300 when you get that Lund post a picture with a fish in hand of course! We stayed at Screwy Louies also. Small cottages but clean and serve the purpose. Just wish they had a kitchen with a stove. Only a microwave. I might check out the Little Sodus Inn for a future stay.
  11. Lund is where it's at. Same boat I have!! Won't be back to Lake O until August. Next is Lake Oneida this summer. Go get em' wish evryone the best of luck!
  12. Elevatorman, I'm not familiar with those names but I'm sure I fished in the general vicinity. I noticed one boat hang right around the chute entrance area and never venture far from it. I was later told at Screwy Louies they did real good right there. I drove past that spot due east and went to work outside the first bluff and caught most of our fish by the third bluff.

It took me a little while trolling and changing lures and depth to get into fish. Then we found them in a specific area east of the chute in semi-stained water. The fish were running fairly nice at 4-8 pounds. Thanks to all the friendly fishing advice from the local fisherman. My buddy and I are hooked on browns! ====================

I couldn't get out on main lake at Fair Haven due to rough water and only a 16' boat. Decided to fish Oswego Harbor which was pretty calm. Caught fish in the 2-5 pound range while honing our skills as rookies. I was just glad we didn't get skunked. Purple and green stick baits were our best producers and picked up a couple with a spoon in the prop wash. ====================
