  1. Just thought I would let everyone know I am getting an order together this week for some more spoons from Bob. If anyone wants to save on shipping I work in Rochester live in Brockport and fish out of Sandy. If interested just PM me and we can work out the details.
  2. Thanks Guys! MissDemeanor - You are right he is an Artist! The problem is I am finding myself with a growing addiction much like I have for custom Turkey Calls. Each time I buy some I start thinking about my next order. The thought even crossed my mind to get my ear pierced and wear one as an earring. (Not Really)
  3. I just got another bunch of spoons from Bob this past week. I asked him for some purples and he knocked it out of the park! here is a 29lb king I caught to break a morning drought about 10 minutes after I changed out a spin doctor/fly for this spoon.
  4. Just got My 14 pounders today. They look great. Will be using them tomorrow. Scott has been great to deal with and delivers as promised. If you are in the market He is the guy. Thanks Scott!
  5. Thanks for the information.I had read lastnight that it might be interferance from a depth finder and I actually have a humingbird transducer mounted right next to the Fish Hawk transducer and a Garmin transducer within 2 ft so I will start by shutting them both off as suggested. As far as the X4 I am already thinking of upgrading next year so I have the larger display also. Thanks again.
  6. I just bought a used Fish Hawk 840. Came with 2 Probes. I set it up and used it for the first time this weekend. Seemed great at first but later in the day it was all over the place. Down temp would read 42 then 25 then 80 then blank. Speed was jumping around as well. Thought it might be battery as I was told they eat batteries but acted the same when i put in a new battery. The probe I have not used yet just came back from bieng re-calibrated. Any suggestion? I plan to try the other probe next weekend but if I need to adjust the gain or something else I would like to be prepared ahead of time. Thanks.
  7. I have an 8'6" eagle claw downrigger rod that is broken about 1/2 way up the upper piece. Just thought I would offer it up before I trash it. Maybe someone has a rod with a broken reel seat or something and can use it. I'm in the rochester area.
  8. I have 2 older high quality outrigger bases that I would like to sell. I looked online to try and determine a fair price but the only ones I found like this were $950. for a pair including the riggers. They were in very bad condition including a split tube. I can't believe they are worth anywhere close to that but don't want to give them away. If anyone recognizes what brand these are so I can get a better idea what they are worth I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
  9. GREAT! I really appreciate the advice. I will setup with the fireline and try it out.
  10. skipper, So I understand you just run the line through the black without twisting it. Then you run the release out to the end of the rigger and drop he dipsy in the water and feed out the desired line. The line just slips through the release. The braid works fine but wire would be damaged from sliding across the metal trigger on the relase. Also what size braid are you using? Thanks for your help
  11. I have a set of outriggers I am thinking about mounting on my boat to run wire dipsy rigs off from to increase my spread. Has anyone tried this? I was thinking I would have to use rubberbands so i dont kink the wire with the release. Any insight would be appreciated. thanks
  12. Thanks Guys! I'll try Jay-vee first since they aren't to far from my office.
  13. Wondering if anyone knows of someone that services Diawa reels in the Rochester area or even if I have to ship them somewhere? I purhased (2) 47 line counters and (4) 175's on ebay that were suppoese to be in "working order" I figured on some issues but they really need more attention than I want to tackle. Thanks
  14. Just sent payment Through PayPal with shipping adress. Thanks!
  15. Sent PM and e-mailed please let me know if you did not receive them. I would like to buy lot 22. thanks
  16. Just my 2 cents. I would not recommend "geneus" consider Lake Ontario. I do agree a 16' boat can handle a lot of water with an experianced boater. But simply asking the question suggests He would be better off getting some more tiller time on the smaller lakes before venturing out on bigger water.
  17. Thanks for the input. I am on my way to Gander right now to stock up. I'll get some of the ones mentioned above and wash some of each untill aa pattern develops. Thanks Again.
  18. I am getting back into fishing after bieng away from it for 20 years and I am trying to refill my tackle boxes. I would like to know if I should spend the money on Rapalas for spring Trout and Salmon or if less expensive brands work just as well? Thanks
  19. I live in Bockport and would like to grab the downriggers. Please call me at 329-2167. Thanks Mike
