  1. Awhile back I was walking out of the woods in Dutchess county and I saw a bobcat in the trail ahead of me just sitting there. I pulled up the scope and  looked but the little voice for some reason said don't shoot.  Not 2 seconds later I see a little fur ball scoot up a tree next to the cat on the ground, and then 2 more did the same thing. The mother took off, but I'm sure she didn't go far. I snuck in closer and got to with in 30 yds of the three kits, and then walked away to leave them alone. They were probably three of the prettiest things I have ever seen in the woods. I was extremely glad I didn't shoot that mother Bobcat.

  2. Awesome! If the lack of hair on his face is just from blasting through the brush you have an outstanding dog on your hands! Honestly, the more I read about this dog, the more I am leaning toward getting one for our next pup.

  3. I bought my 75 yr old dad a crossbow for his birthday which he will get to use come November. Having never owned a crossbow here is my question: Is there an actual manufacturing difference between crossbow vs compound bow broadheads? Do they make them stronger or are companies just pushing them from a marketing standpoint to make more $$$?  Thanks.

  4. The have plastics Dobbies now.  I use the real thing most of the time but I have used the substitutes and they work good.  Live ones smell bad and i think that when you jabb them with a hook it lets all that scent out as fish attractant.

Frogger is right.  Blindly stick your hand into the bucket to get yourself one.  The best way.

Also, I heard $9 a dozen last year.  Is this true?

    BS,

Where can you find the plastic ones?

  5. Last year my twins,(1 boy, 1girl) both asked to go fishing for their 4th birthday. So I took them my dad out on Cayuga.  We caught a bunch of fish but they each landed a 7+ Lb rainbow. Sometimes I regret not mounting both of those fish because of the circumstances. I did however take a bunch of pics  and have one enlarged and printed on canvas in our home.  Only other one would be a big blue perch I caught 4-5 years ago.

  6. I would stay away from a pump just because of the recoil factor, and there are many reputable companies that make quality autoloaders. A buddy of mine bought a 3.5" nova pump for goose hunting and that thing kicks the crap out of him to the point of significant bruising on his shoulder. I have a Benelli super black eagle and love it. Ice, snow, rain, it shoots every time.  The new ones have a recoil reduction stock that would be nice to have as well. But, like I said above their are quite a few quality goose guns out there now: Beretta, Benelli SBE II, Browning A5, Maxus, Remington Versa max, Franchi Affinity or Intensity, Winchester SX3.
