  1. I am assuming that what we ran into today out of olcott where fleas? I am new to the lake but our lines where covered with what looked like some sort of very tenacious algae. Where these the fleas? How long does this last? I am going to stick to walleye and Lake Erie until this mess is gone. Do they stay for the rest of the summer? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Heading up with some guys from Wisconsin. Any updates from the weekend that could help.
  3. 7 for 12. All in 320 - 450. FF at 50 took two the rest came on 5 color LC off boards. 1 king. 1 brown. 1 steelhead. 1 laker. 3 coho. Is that a Lake Ontario grand slam. This is a new fishery to us. So far it has been a blast. My kids are having fun.once again thanks for all the post and help.
  4. Wanted to post our first trip on Lake Ontario. All the guys here have been great about giving us advice. We left Olcott at 10:30 am Saturday morning because we wanted to make sure we missed the morning rush and it being a new port we didnt know what to expect. We went 4 for 8 all on FF, NBK flasher with a green fly is what worked for us. Caught our biggest salmon ever on the boat....a 19 pounder. This tells me that the fish here are definitely bigger than Lake Michigan. All fish came in 230-270 ft of water on a East troll about 50 feet down. Big difference here seems to be that when you mark fish you get a hook up. In Lake M we would mark fish 20 times before we took a hit. Once again thanks again for all the friendly advice.
  5. What speeds are you trolling that you are too fast. Also wondering if there are any off limit areas or fishing nets out there to steer clear of. I also have all my experience on Lake Michigan and some ports over there can be hairy with regulations. Thanks for the help.
