Got every Friday booked off for the tournament. New net, new cooler. Hell the cars almost in the driveway lol

Can't hardly wait for the weekend hopefully some big ones make it down this way for the gosd

I have had success this year first thing in the morning with uv spoons. But it was still bright and sunny in the morning... have not fished deep yet this year so will be interesting to see if they produce down in the dark

If I don't have this option on my sonar is there an update I can do?

Is the jigging mode in the same spot as the salt water setting? I definitely noticed a pixelated image when I made these adjustments.

I have used the uni to uni knot without issue. Easy to tie, if your rod has smaller guides on it the knot some times catches on the way out. You just have to give the rod tip a little shake and the line passes through

Talked with scotty today and they said no problem running 20# weights on them they are rated at 150#. Thanks for the info.

Do any of you use the snubbers on you downriggers, and use 20# balls? I just got two new 2116 and use the snubbers. I have now purchased some 20# balls and noticed there is a lot of stretch in them. Are they good for this weight or do I need to use a different snubbers for that weight. I looked on scotty's Website and found no weight capacity

If you go to your sonar settings and change from clear mode to max mode or switch fire mode you should have no trouble seeing your balls. Inside of 100 feet you will need to adjust your sensitivity a little lower. That is as long as your transducer is point in the correct direction. I have noticed that the stock transducer on mind can be a little temperamental some days I get some strange readings but a reboot usually solves that problem.

Started of at sunrise didn't move a rod till 10. All riggers from 10 till 11:15 boated 11 fish. 9 small kings 1 and 2 lbers. 2 lakers both were around 10 lbs. All on spoons fished 60 to 130 not many marks. Action 70 to 90

I have never had them bounce around to much, the weight of the rigger keeps them in their place. Make sure they have the cut outs on the bottom that lock around the pin in the bottom of the rod holder

Putting fish into your own rig is a great feeling. Have fun

I have used them two seasons now if the holders they go in are solid they work well. I just upgraded my riggers and kept the gimbal mount rod holder setup.

I had a 5 hp kicker on my 1650 Crestline and yes it was "rough". A little loud but great on gas and was more then enough on most days. Some times when the Wind was blowing I wish I had a bit more. Mostly to help with boat control but it was worth the money just for the fuel alone. And a back up motor is always a good thing saved my but last year in my new boat when my main died on me.

Does it lose power or does the rpm drop off even at full throttle? On my old boat I had a 55 Suzuki on it and when I was under full throttle some times the rpms would drop and if I slowed and then powered up it would fix it's self. It was a stuck switch that was to power down if the motor was trimmed up to much. It got stuck up when I was trailering the boat... not sure if your motor has the same thing

I'm not to sure of your area but over 100 might be hard to find fish... maybe start in sub 100 water and look for bait. I have not been out over 100 feet yet this year and still have put a few fish in the boat every trip but my first. Good luck out there

Some times I will run my boards out without a line on them when I am alone... they help the boat track straight and I can switch a core or flat line out quick if my rigger or dipsey are not firing. I try to stay out of traffic and when the tournament is on this weekend in port dalhousie I will be staying west and out of the way.

Lesson learned with 8lb. line!

Unlikely I am sure I will do it again at some point. That's why I love these fish I have caught lots but they still get me fired up where I make rookie mistakes.

One fish off 2 colour, other two off riggers down 15' spoons of the riggers and stick of the core. I did notice that down speed out by port dalhousie was a lot different then surface speed even only 15' down...

I was out that way to marked some fish by port dalhousie. Picked up two small kings and lost a good one to a bone head move... I got him on 8 lb test and tried to stop him cause my spool was getting low and he took my new spoon for my stupidity. Lol

I ended up drilling a hole 1/2 up and 1/2 forward and they pulled well I may play with the hole position again this weekend. But they run much better now

Try moving the eyebolt. start with 1/2"down and 1/2" back. The densities 

of the plastic is different in every board, so it may take a little 

tweaking. Don't make drastic changes. Most of the time it only takes a 

little different placement of the eyebolt to work it out.
