We could have had enough test kits available that when a case was identified, we could have surveyed the actual extent of the problem, and then isolated it more effectively. Our inability to contain represents an epic failure, given the advance notice. From top to bottom, the administration in this country buried their heads in the sand and firmly stated that it wasn't our problem and wouldn't be an issue for Americans. Now that the cat is out of the bag, it's too late to be proactive, and so we've become knee-jerk reactive and everybody is jumping aboard. Heads-up: it is too late.

He shut down travel from China and got called a racist for it. How do you have test kits available for a new strain of a virus that quickly. This administration has acted quicker than we did with SARS and H1N1. We sent to China and pressured their government for actual numbers

When did we start production of the tests?

Bandrus I haven't looked into it maybe you have what did Italy do to contain the virus?

We're about 50 days behind China in this out break so we can expect a drastic increase in cases of the virus.

So I think we're doing what we should, and the doctor from the CDC said it will get worse before it gets better.

So, you know that the low price of oil is intended by Saudi Arabia to drive private companies..such as American shale companies...out of business? It is economic jihad. No political statement is intended here, but Trump has little to do with it. We will benefit in the short-term and suffer greatly long-term.

As for COVID-19, we were not proactive enough as a society. If things get as bad as I anticipate, it could be difficult to focus on hunting and fishing. We are in uncharted waters now.

What more could we have done as a society? Compared to the SARS and H1N1 pandemics I'd say we have been very proactive.

Out on the water or calling in a turkey could be the best place to be.

If Dicks and Field and Stream are owned by the same parent company, I don't get how them removing guns and hunting equipment from the Dicks stores can be considered anything except a business decision. I'd guess they want to move in a different direction, and I doubt any real sportsman will miss them. But it can't be them trying to make a political statement...otherwise, that would be the worst kind of hypocrisy. Never happens, right?

From what I heard they're selling the field and stream stores. The one in Elmira has already changed names. Stack's wife is a left wing loonie.

    Found this.

  4. Love my Scotty's. I don't run the high-speeds but extremely happy with the 1116. Take up more room then the cannons. My buddy has cannon high-speeds and I like them to.

Took me one trip to get used to the clutch on the Scotty's.

Saw that as well. Should be a wake up call for many. I remember taking my kids out of school to hunt and being told it wasn’t an excused absence. I told the school that maybe it should be. Sent my son to school the next day with venison snack sticks for his classmates and the teacher cried and told my son that hunting was cruel.

Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

One of my son's teachers invited me to come into the classroom and show the kids a turkey fan and explain how they communicated when I told her I was taking him out for turkey hunting.

Who is to blame if kids aren't interested in the outdoors? We can try and blame schools and technology etc but if we are going to be totally honest some of the blame has to put on us.

  6. Bill is in committee and hasn't been voted on. I sent a message to Senator Akshar and this was his reply.

Thanks for your feedback on these bills, Charlie.

There's no similar bill in the Assembly for S.1412 which is necessary for passage into law.

However, the Democrats control both houses in the Legislature so we'll have to keep an eye on it moving forward.

I appreciate your advocacy here and you can count on my continued opposition here.

One thing I pointed out was that insurance wouldn't cover a psychological evaluation of a drug test if they weren't medically necessary so a person would be at least $600 out of pocket before buying a gun.

This bill is from the same guy that wanted you to give them your passwords so they can check your social media accounts too.

  7. I fished a lot solo a couple seasons ago, ran 2 riggers and a wire dipsey or 2 dipsey and a rigger. I don't know why but I didn't run copper when I fished solo. I was going to one day and then I doubled and figured it was enough of a Chinese fire drill especially with an inline planer board.

Never had an issue with my wire set ups cutting anything off.
