I tried out a friends display and it worked fine. It's definitely the display. I took very good care of it but its no longer under warranty but I'm not going to pay $200, if i can help it. Has anyone been able to get something like this replaced for free without it being under warranty?

Most of the time I've had problems with electronics it ended up being corrosion on the terminal connection to the fuse panel or the fuse itself. Corrosion can also cause a slight loss in voltage so you have to check for actual voltage to the pins on the back of the cord and not just continuity.
Do you leave your fishhawk on the boat or to you unplug and replug it every time?

Fish hawk Display Problems
I have Fishhawk x4, It has worked fine this year on multiple trips, and then all of the sudden one day the display would not turn on. I am going to test the wiring for current. I have also heard of people ground wire coming loose.
Has anyone else's fish hawk display stopped working out of nowhere? and by stopped working I mean it doesn't turn on our show any numbers at all.

Riggers were down by 615am just west of 5 stacks heading east towards nine mile point in 110ft. (I marked and caught fish there last night).
7am 285 dipsey fires with a green chip w/ white glow and fly. 25#lb King in the boat.
Only fish of the day. Fished 100fow to 150fow from five stacks to in front of the nuke plant.
Quit at 1030am. Marked few fish and most bait was marked no deeper than 115 fow.
Heading west tonight to see what we can scrape up. Report to follow.

Check your timing advance. Sound a lot like an ignition spark advance issue. Probably built into the ignition module

how can i check the timing advance?

It sounds like you have a maintanance issue to take care of so the computer set the rpms that low so you don't damage the motor. I don't know if your gauges are equipped to give out maintenance codes? if not a maintenance manual for your motor is invaluable. also you can post your question on ( I BOATS .COM). Find the link to your specific motor and post a question there,They are very knowledgeable and helpfull
That sounds possbile but i dont know if the motor has an computers like that or not given its age, there is defintely a problem that is casuing the engine not to perform at its highest capacity

What brand?
its an evinrude 150hp v6 outboard, 1994

Sounds like the high speed fuel pump is gone. There simple but expensive fix about 300$ in parts. Happened on my Honda couple years back.
high speed fuel pump? its an 94 evinrude 150 v6, would the fuel pump be connected to the filter/?

Have you checked to see if the linkage for the throttle is at wide open ?
linkage is fine, that was the first thing i checkdd

I recently put my boat in, first 3 trips, at about an hour each, motor ran perfectly. On the 4th trip, I had 5 people including myself on my 22ft bayliner trophy with a 1994 150 evinrude v6 outboard. A half hour into the trip, while in some moderate chop, I had the throttle wide open and my rpms slowly dropped in about 30 seconds from 4000 plus to about 3100 rpms(35mph to 20 mph). Currently the engine runs smooth and consistent, but I cannot run over 3100 rpms. I checked the fuel line, fuel filters, cleaned carborators, all of my spark plugs are working. Discovered that a couple of my spark plug boots are corroded and do not grip well the the plugs. Also suspecting that I may have somone weak coils.
Anyone have an experience similar to this? Or any tips?

Hello Oswego county area fisherman, recently got my boat in down at Wrights and I would like to expand my experience trolling for salmon and trout on Lake Ontario, but lack rigger, dipsey, and long line rods and reels, and tackle. PM me or call/text me at 3154025614 if you are interested. I'm also willing to use my full size pickup truck for work. Thank you for your time and tight lines to all!

Defintely get flies, ATOMMIK flies work well for me, any of the green stuff will work. Get some flashers(spin doctors and echips which are the rectangular flashers), you can get away with just getting MtnDew patterrns, white green dot, hammertime, green and white flasher works well, anything green dot will work. I run my fly leaders 22 in from head of fly to paddle. You can also run meat heads on regular Good size flashers with a 30-40in leader.
Troll at between 2.0-2.5 mph at the downrigger ball(if you have a fishhawk), If you dont have a fishhawk then use your gps speed 2.2-2.6.
Glow and white dawn and dusk and overcast, chrome flash when the suns get a little higher in the sky, dont be afraid to run white and green in the sunliight, the white green dot spin doctor will work all day.
Good luck!
