Agreed just looking at it, the eye bolt looks a bit low... could be causing the opposite side to dip down a bit and want to dive as the eye bolt ski pulls up out of the water from the tow line. 

If you get tired of wasting your time playing with the boards and want to focus on fishing, just buy amish boards and you'll never worry or think about it again    

Last spring FishUSA had them on sale for $139/set... can't beat that!

For browns I use 12lb Trilene Big Game Mono (Clear) on the Rigger rods (Ugly Stik 8'3" L), with a 10lb Seaguar Fluoro Leader.  On Planer Rods used on big boards flat-lined, I use my walleye set-ups with 10lb Trilene Big Game Mono (Clear), with a 10lb Seaguar Fluoro Leader (Ugly Stik 8'3" L).  My 3,4,5,6 color Leadcores I neck down to a 12lb Seaguar Fluoro Leader - also ran on the big boards (Okuma Classic Pro GLT 7'6" ML).

Trilene Big Game Mono is cheap, effective, and has worked for me on all Walleye/Brown set-ups.  I also use 20lb Big Game as backer on all of my leadcores (hi-vis Green).

You will be more then happy running the L 8'3" Ugly Stik's Señor. Great rod for Browns and Walleye. That said I strictly use them on big boards and riggers flatlining cranks or spoons. No leadcore... So I can't comment on their capability there but I would assume 5 colors and less would be OK. Myself I use the Okuma pro GLT 7'6" medium light action rods for all my short cores (3,4,5,6). A little bit more backbone helps with the cores.

I use the same rods Chas mentioned for Kings... They're overkill for Spring Brown fishing.

Do yourself a favor and get special mate boxes for sticks!!! I have 3 and all are full. Keeps them from getting beat up, Hooks from rusting in trapped water like other Plano type boxes, easily organized, and no tangles!!!

Never been much of a panfisher... Was fun though they really fight when they get big. Fished a private reservoir in Deposit NY - I got permission to fish recently. Off road 4x4 for access. Made it interesting. Caught some nice sized largemouth bass too.

That sucks. Hopefully that rep takes the inquiry back and puts it on the table for potential future offerings.

In this tournament, you were able to cull fish in a sense since you could keep the 2-person limit (6).  Only the 3 largest would go to the scale of the 6 possible.  In our case it was simple, we caught 3 that day so to the scale they went! haha Did lose 3 others throughout the day... they were painful loses until 3 were in the cooler and we knew we had a full bag to weigh in.

You should have seen the 13.65lb slob that 1st place won.

I'd say... that's pretty cool though makes for a great story.  Nice work!  Venture a few feet deeper and you should get into some nice eyes.

As long as you keep moving you're good.  Don't stall, make evasive turns that lag the inside board, etc... 

Any ski style planer board could flip if the "perfect storm" conditions are met... but it's not the boards fault, it's purely operator error.  Yell at the captain!!!

All great stuff. I wish i had something like this twenty years ago. Our set up is just like fleets.with one new wrinkle. We mounted masts with pullys at the bow. Kinda like a bow mount rig. We are trying to get the boards to run as far forward as is possible.

On a hard-top boat?  How do you reach the planer towline? or do you have a walkaround boat and that's how you get access?  With the amish boards there are times when they're running so well horizontal to the boat that we can barely reach the towline with a fully extended dock rope hook (I found this to be my tool of choice for this application).  If the pulleys were mounted any further forward on my boat, no doubt the tow line would not be reachable to attach releases.

Couldn't find a better picture I apologize it may be hard to see... but I rigged mine the same way with a pulley hard-mounted (no spring) as far forward on the hardtop grab rail on my Penn Yan 245.  I went one step further and instead of mounting the planer reels on the ends of the hardtop rocket launcher (not convenient), I used a second pulley mounted on a taller triple tree mast to send the tow line down to the conveniently located planer reel.  It worked out great last season.

OR16's have come standard on all offshore Inlines for quite a while now... If you do go with offshore Inlines (my preference if big boards aren't an option), Just make sure you have the Red OR16 release on the back. They didn't always come that way.
