  1. What about when you want different depths? In NH for landlocks, I like to run 2 or 3 colors of lead early season. Do you guys do that with copper lengths to achieve different depths? I will run 2 colors on my outside lines, then 3 colors on my inside. All my leaders are 75ft long, regardless of color. So if a fish hits the 2 color setup, it swings to the back , but its higher in the water column than the 3 color setup and they don't tangle. I know the difference between 2 and 3 colors is just a few feet, but trying to cover a couple of different depths to find the salmon. So theoretically my 2 color lines are 135ft back and my 3 colors are 165feet back and 3-5feet deeper.

  2. Hi guys,

Anyone else have this problem and have any hints on how I can fix it. A few issues Ive had.....

    1. If letting them out too fast, they dive, AND DIVE HARD!!! To combat this I now just let them out very slowly, but I doubt they are supposed to do this at all!
    2. When pulling even just 2 or 3 colors of lead for shallow trolling they sag back, I used to have the yellow Riviera boards and they did not do this, I have made 4 knot loops in the string to try and find the right setting to make these pull harder, still haven't got it right yet.
    3. Tried the recommended 9" from the front and 14" from the back knot...still not much difference.
    4. Tried ordering the 2nd keel Atomik just happened to be out of them and  cant seem to find them anywhere else....

Anyone else have any other info to offer? I have a Great Lakers Planer Rocket launcher with the planer reels built on to them, so the lines are coming from a nice high angle to the boards....

  3. Question for you guys who troll Dipsy's on the lake. I want to setup 2 Dipsy rods, I have pretty much decided to go with 9'6" Daiwa Heartland rods, and I have 2 Cabelas DMG-45 reels that I am gonna use on them. What do you use for line on the reels? Wire or Power Pro? I am gonna bring the reels with me next week to Pulaski and get them spooled up, but not sure which is the best option. If Power Pro I can spool them myself, if wire, I don't know the 1st thing about wire so im looking for advice....I run copper setups while trolling on my planer boards, so not a newbie just have never used wire and Dipsy's are just a new weapon in the arsenal I want to try.

    Thanks!!
