  1. Maybe a worn clutch dog? It transfers power to the prop. If it's worn it can make the motor jump out of gear. Sometimes you can flip them over and use the reverse gear side for your forward. Looks like a round piece of tubing with teeth on top and bottom.

  2. Wow, sorry to hear that. I just asked Big Jon yesterday if I could buy a gold rod holder and they said the same thing. They should be able to do a one-off order for you, unless it's a supplier problem, but there are several anodizing shops in Michigan. Another solution would be to buy the raw pre-anodized pieces from them and send them out yourself, if that's even possible. I know they make most, if not all their components in Michigan. I've used anodizing shops before for downrigger parts that I've machined and the costs were reasonable. It varies based on the number of parts and size. Just a thought...

  3. To my knowledge, Garmin doesn't make a transducer sharing switch for the Ecomap products. It wasn't covered under the NMEA 2000 for data sharing (the national marine standard for units sharing data). Ecomap Units can possibly share mapping and waypoint data but not transducer data. Units that can share transducers generally do so via an Ethernet connection. You may want to confirm this yourself by contacting Garmin. I'm not familiar with the 93 series.

  4. (Edited) I initially thought you were talking about the drags sticking. Lincounters - yeah they stick. You can oil them like ERABBIT says below. Mine have a hole drilled through the button with a split ring through it - prevents it from sticking in the pushed position.

And Cabelas warranties all their product.

  5. Thank you each and every one for the prayers and kind thoughts. I appreciate it. Great to hear similar stories. Yes, we are relying on friends and family, without them this would be impossible. Relying on others is tough, because as a Dad you always want to be in control. I have to hand this one over.......

Yes modern technology is amazing. I think we are in the best place we could be. They have teams of people ready for baby and my wife.

As of this morning, things are still stable. Wife and unborn baby are doing good. Thanks again.

  6. Well after having a great season so far, my family and I are in a new season and it doesn't involve fishing. My wife is 23 weeks pregnant and her water broke last week. I would ask you to pray that she can make it through this week without going into labor, as each week is critical for the baby. I will need prayer as well to use wisdom in managing my household, as we adjust to this new challenge. We are looking at up to 17 weeks in the hospital.
