  1. Have a nice fresh water only Johnson 40 hp. Won't shift into gear. Hoping to sell for around $500. Anyone need this? Near Allentown, Pa. Motor has 20" shaft. Call or text my cellphone 610 392 6581. Thanks. Sakorifle.
  2. I joined up with this site a couple weeks ago and check it out almost every day. All kinds of good stuff here. We fished 25 years ago out of Sodus with an old friend from Oil City Pa who, unfortunately, has passed on. Pretty much concentrated on Quebec (Kapitachuan and Kipawa) then Newboro lake in Ontario fishing with the family for a week. I am hoping to haul my heavy 22' Grady up to Lake Ontario for an overnight trip if the wind ever calms down. We've got 30-40 mph right now in Macungie, Pa. Does anyone know of a similar site (I know it won't be as good as this one) that covers north NJ? I've been storing the boat on a trailer in Keyport, NJ and fishing the Sandy Hook area. Would be nice to keep it in the water or rack storage, but I'm retiring and refuse to pay $2,500 a season for dockage. Thanks for your comments. Sakorifle.
  3. Hello Reeladdiction2- I just bought a couple spools of Cabela's braided dacron planer board line here at the Hamburg, Pa store ( I live in Macungie, only 45 min away). Seems like decent stuff; orange high visibility. I've read that the dacron will absorb water and will eventually rot but I only get out with planers 3 or 4 times a year and I can lay it out in the lawn to dry out before I roll it up. Don't have a planer mast. I have a 22' Grady Tournament and I just tie the stuff off to the forward cleat and it works fine. I read on LOU about a heavier line offered by an outfit near Erie that sells all kinds of boards, lines etc. and called them a half dozen times and never was able to talk to anyone so I went ahead and got the next best. This line was pretty cheap and it does the job. Good luck. Sakorifle.
  4. thanks for the info guys. We plan to come up to Oneida midsummer for a short vacation and we'll try the canal. Nothing wrong with panfish for action to keep the women's noses out of their books. Thanks.
  5. Hey Johnny Walleye and Fish Hunter- glad to hear that at least you got out a bit and had some action. The wife and I had a four day trip planned to Lake Oneida(a friend of mine owns what used to be a hardware store in Sylvan Beach; now a house mostly fixed up for guests) for our 38th anniversary, but I watched the weather forecasts and didn't like what I saw. I was going to bring up my 24' pontoon, but with the wind I never would have taken if off the trailer. Do any of you local fishermen fish the canal behind Sylvan Beach, or is this not a good idea? Don't much care what we would catch, as long as there's some action. We only eat panfish anyway. Thanks. Sakorifle, Macungie, Pa.

  8. Hello- I am getting ready to set up a trip to probably Sodus area for brownies. Have an older Grady 22' that I've been using off Sandy Hook NJ. Heavy to tow, but good safe boat. Looking for a place to stay overnight. Years ago there was a restaurant/bar/motel a couple miles from Sodus that was a great place; even had pool tables. Anyone know the name and phone number of this place? if it is even open yet. Appreciate that info. Am ready to make up planer boards, probably doubles. Saw a set of plans on the internet. Does anyone have a prime plan for double boards that I could use? New member from Macungie, Pa. Thank you. Sakorifle.
