  1. I'm on vacation this week as my brother is home on leave. Has anyone been out of sodus recently? He has never caught a king casting on the pier but I dont know if there are enough around it to try yet. My boat is only a lund fury 1600 so heading out to far is probably a little out of my league. Any info on near shore bites is much appreciated Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Less chatter means more fish being caught Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Any word on the casting bite? Trying to land my first. 20 hours of fishing so far with only follows Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I know its a shallow launch and havent been there in about a month. Is it still deep enough to launch a 16ft boat? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Going to be a little to windy to jig so I'm heading to the mudlocks. Going to be fishing below the dam by boat. Any luck recently? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Location? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Well I'm thinking these will get me going and they were on sale. When they burn out ill replace them with something better. Had to get something besides the mojo bass flipping stick. Wrist is killing me without the foregrip. I underestimated the pull on those tandem inlines Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. 3 beginner musky rods and reels on the way. A few new baits to add to the 5 I already have. Even if its a 30 incher I'll be happy. Definitely addicted. Love the pike up here on the lake Ontario bays but that was way more fun Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Waneta humbled me today. First time going to that lake and first time chasing muskies. Had 6 follows. All on tandem inline bucktails. Just couldn't get them to bite Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. No musky. Haven't traveled to catch my first yet but maybe in the near future. Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Even if I were to get there at say 3am? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I'll probably use the one I have. Thank you for the offer though. Maybe if I burn this one out ill look into that one. Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Yes it does. Sounds like the st. Croix rods are the way to go. I already have around a dozen st. Croixs for bass fishing and love them all so I'm sure the mojo musky series are good too. I have an Abu Garcia ambassadeur bcx 6600 reel that is on a rod I don't use anymore. I think it will work fine for musky but has anyone tried them personally? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Ive looked at the st Croix rods and do like them but I'm lacking in baits and was trying to save a Little on the rods. I do think that once I get more baits and proper release tools I will upgrade the rods to either the premier musky or mojo musky Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Casting Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. What reel is it and how much? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Beginner musky fisherman looking for advice on rods. I'm just starting to put together a musky bait and rod setup. I would like to buy some inexpensive rod and reel setups to start with. I've been looking at the basspro graphite series musky series. Probably and Abu Garcia ambassadeur reel for them. Any opinions, recommendations or offers on used baits and rod/ reel setups are welcome. Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Thank you. I love catching northern and would like to expand onto musky fishing once and a while. These lakes seemed like a good place to try first because I have a smaller boat. I will most likely get there extremely early and sleep in the truck for a bit or go down on a weeknight and fish for a couple hours after work. Thanks again for the info and good luck to you Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I'd like to try fishing these lakes but heard the parking for the boat ramp is limted. Does anyone else fish these lakes and if so do you have problems finding a parking spot. Its an hour and a half drive so any info is appreciated Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Were you able to launch at the coast guard station by the pier? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Anybody looked at the state park launch at the north end recently? Deep enough for 17ft aluminum to launch? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. But before march 15th it is still ok to launch? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. So before march 15th? Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Perfect. Thank you. Now all I need is some slightly warmer weather Sent from my LGL64VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
