I have an extra twilli tip. I just finished setting up a 300' copper rod and reel (Okuma Convector 55L and Okuma GLT 8'6" copper/leadcore rod). Should I put the extra twilli tip on this rod?

What size swivel should I use for attaching a dipsy to my wire line?

Also if I do run 2 rods per side, should I run a magnum on the inside rod and a smaller one on the outside rod, or is running 2 mags per side okay?

I'm going to add dipsys to my spread this year. I've never run them before. I'm planning on running one per side outside my downriggers to start. What setting should I set the dipsys on? If I go on to run 2 rods per side, what settings should I use then?

Will I be able to pull a 300' or 500' Copper behind an Off Shore inline planer or will in need to get the Church TX-44 Super Planers to do this?

I own a Hewescraft 22ft Searunner and would not own any other aluminum boat. The customer service at Hewescraft is second to none. You get a real person who will answer your questions or how to install a part. I been to Alaska and looked at the DuckWorth and Woodbridge boat too. If you want something 26 ft and over they get the nod. Under 26 foot get a Hewescraft. I have my boat on the Little Salmon River near Mexico Point.
Is your boat red? We were fishing out in Mexico few weeks ago and I kept seeing what I thought was a red Hewescraft. It was a really neat looking boat. I wanted to get an up close look at it. I've always been interested in west coast aluminum boats. Where did you get it? Did you have to go out to Washington or Oregon?

Do you have one of those wives that will not allow deer heads in the living room?
That's why I built myself a big garage! She has no say out there.

Check out Marinco.com. I used their ConnectPro plugs for my Big Jons. Works out great when it comes time to take the riggers off the boat.

Those are the ecact plugs I used in the pictures of my board set up. They are what came with the Scotty's

Let me know the beam on your boat. A friend just removed an aluminum mounting board and would like to sell it at a reasonable price
I made my own already. See the attached picture in this post.

A line counter reel won't be accurate with copper because the copper is so much larger than the line the counters are calibrated to count.
The amount of line per spool revolution lessens as the spooled line diameter decreases in size. 500' of mono or braided wire like you would use on a diver have similar diameters so the line counters work, but copper will be way off.
It sounds like you want to use this as a chute rod and only deploy part of the copper at times. If you plan to do this, you can buy copper that is pre-marked. In that way you would deploy it in a similar way as you would lead core line by counting colors on a full core.

Thanks. That is helpful. It confirms what I am now thinking.

I like the looks of your rigger board, is that a custom made? I need to do the same and span across the back but none of the big name guys will say their track will span 7.5' unsupported. I'd love to see a couple more pics of it, thanks
I made it my self. Here's the link to the thread about it with more pictures: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/topic/39145-downrigger-mounting-board/#entry276484
