I made a couple of masts from an old trampolines safety net poles, doubled as an outrigger also. They worked great i would add some springs to the pulley at the top if i ever did it again. I might be able to dig up some pictures if you are interested, that being said i picked up a mast for 100 bucks and it works just as well if not better, seeing as big jon reels are 100/set on the used market. I also have a schematic for big boards if you need. I think it's an 80 degree angle with a 30 degree face cut on the angle. Radial arm saw is best imo.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Id be interested in the board schematics if you have them handy

Guess i thought you were asking if you can use twili tip. I know a lot of guys use cheap rods, okuma glt, shimano tdr or diawa as long as it has the twili tip and the hold up fine

I have okuma glt with twili tip, works great

Im not sure much about the ps30 with trolling but I would research the views a little more and google trolling with livescope
-
ps30 is just down view from what I understand, I would imagine if you put livescope in perspective view it would show down and back about 40 ft, plus you would have the same down view and forward view
-
also before you set on the ps30, cabelas has the actual livescope for 1299 starting the 10th.

I use the 93 and think it works great for it. scheels still has the 93 for 699 I believe

Look up fine tuned welding on facebook. He made me track adapters with rigger mounts and single rod holders, he also does rod trees but I’m sure he sells just the track adapters
-
chinook35 also look for other ways to save. Look for deals through sites like Rakuten or sales to buy gift cards for % off. On cyber monday I bought livescope regular price of $1500 for $900 through rakuten, rebate and credit card cash back

If you think you can do it yourself, thats what I would do. I like to learn how to do my own stuff so I watch as many videos as I can find and google the fix to read about it. You save money and learn at the same time while knowing its done right.

I would worry far less about mowing and just simply get good weed kills from the very jump of spring green up. If you are planting a fall plot and you are going straight from a fallow field, then I would skip the buckwheat step and simply weedkill from spring greenup straight through to late summer. Probably get 5-6 kills in. You will be amazed at how little biomass there is once it has been killed and dried. From there you should have wide open soil by late august with just standing stalks of dead plants. Then plant whatever you want. Then the next year I would start in with the buckwheat method as you will have cleared with way for it with the initial year heavy sprayings.
thank you, will try this spring

Seeing this thread has me intrigued to try doing a food plot next year. My question is what did you start with in that field? Where I want to do it is about 3 acres in the middle of our woods that is overgrown goldenrod. Im thinking an atv pull behind mower to mow that off early spring and then follow what you did. thoughts?
