  1. I loooove fishing Skaneateales...but the launches are too packed on weekends and the lake is a complete nut house from my experience the past 5 years. This is my girlfriends favorite lake but I refuse to go there unless its on a weekday. Have not been there once this year due to last years experiences. Many people have no respect or common sense on this lake...I love hearing the reports though!

  2. Lol I really am excited… I used to fish the south end all the time and caught a ton of fish on yo-zuri pins minnows. I haven't fished the south end in two years. last year I fished sampson or severn pt a couple times and could only manage one or two fish. I have since moved to Cayuga and Ontario. Good to hear its back on the upswing. I might have to try it out sometime soon… much shorter drive for me!

  3. Went 3/4 out of Long Point today. Some debris in water.. had a 12" piece of wood hit prop today but no damage. You will be fine as long as you are being cautious. The wind really picked up quick today for as little bit in the evening it cut my trip an hour or so short.

  4. I fished from 3:30 to 7:30. I set up in 160 fow and fished to 450 fow heading West. Fished solo and ran 3 rods. Fished spoons and flasher fly and e chip combos and even ran a dipsy. Didn't get one hook up. My screen on my hds 7 looked like a desert. I barely marked anything the whole time. DEC guy at dock said it was a slow day. I might try again tomorrow depending on weather

  5. I ran a green and pink gambler rig for a couple hours and couldn't buy a hit. If that gambler rig was purple It would have been money. It's funny how some days they only want one thing. I was really hoping for some more silver fish and only ran one laker rod out of my 3 rod spread.

I went on a solo mission out of Long Point State Park from 2-8pm went 3 for 5. I lost two more lakers at the boat due to net operator error. I marked fish in all the same spots as I did last year. The only thing they wanted today was purple. I got a 22/23" LL on a purple spoon on wire dipsy and hooked up the rest of the lake trout on a mt dew crush spin doctor and purple fly. I also donated a Scotty snubber and 12 lb fish weight to the lake. Not a bad solo trip all fish were in the 22" to 24" range. Lakers seem pretty healthy on this lake as I was running 2 of the 3 lines for silvers.

  7. But I don't know about the West side of Ontario. Ive never fished out that way. It could be Chataqua or something else iv'e never fished out that way! Great Pics thanks for the report!!! I haven't been out on the ice once this year so Im living through everyone else! We will be trolling for browns soon!!!

  8. King Slammin you have a sick addiction!!! Nice pics! Always crushing it no matter what season!!! Makes me wish I wasn't in the Southern Tier and closer to the big O Instead of the Finger Lakes. On weekends I stay in Liverpool so I usually launch out of Oswego. Im guessing you're fishing out of Chaumont? Ive never fished that far North but from the beautiful mixed bag it's just a guess.

  9. Starcraft Superfisherman is an awesome boat! I think my first boat was a 1997 Starcraft Superfisherman 140T. It was blue and white with a 40hp tiller and could take a lot for such a small boat. If I could choose any aluminum boat it would be the Starcraft Fishmaster 2100. I don't care about the rear casting platform because if I'm casting I'm gonna be in the front and my company would be in the back and would have to deal with the rear high wall. Awesome dance floor for trolling. I was drooling over them at the syracuse boat show last year.

  10. I agree with battle hammer… living near Ontario you will catch trolling bug and want the largest TRAILERABLE boat you can afford. I fish the Finger Lakes and Ontario in my Tracker Targa 175. It sucks coming into Oswego harbor because it kicks to 2-3 ft rollers when other are just heading out of the break wall. If It is way too rough on Ontario you will have many other options with a trailerable boat.
