Go to the Lake Simcoe fishing forum and you will find a wealth of info. Usually caught thru the ice with a small ice fishing spoon called a Meegs tipped with some bait.
mimics a goby feeding. one of their main forage base now. I use a meegs wth a tube at the back.. very effective.

Good Day, anyone ever use a Lowrance HDS unit with a P66 transducer 50/200? Web site says it is an option. I am only interested in downward viewing for trolling at this point. The P66 is already on the boat. Also will be looking to hook up the Lowrance outboard cable driven auto pilot. Thanks for your feedback,
Dave
ive done this yes. a raymarine p66 with a splice kit and an hds plug. works well except that combination doesnt allow for surfsce temp

I'm on the Canadian side and fish more salmon/trout. I'll be hitting bay of quinte this fall and winter for the big girls and boys before freeze up. it's a 2 hour hike so harder for me to get out.

The walleye eye is already unique in it's ability to see at night or in low light levels. Any sort of glow would not be natural. Concentrate on vibration and wobble. Remember to never troll beneath them. They won't go down to hit a trolling bait but tests show they will come up 30ft to strike.

that makes a lot of sense. thanks.

In my travels, i have never found glow to be any sort of productive for night walleye. I do a lot of night fishing for walleye and i would never put one out.
very interesting. only thru the ice have I used it. I don't fish eyes alot I fish more salmon and trout but was curious. is it maybe their eye structure? or something biological?

Durham Region Trolling depths Hi Guys!
New to trolling this year and haven't had much success. Trolling around the mouths of oshawa and duffins in 30-60ft of water. Like I said, haven't had much luck and wondering if anyone has been out recently and might have some tips in regards to the depth of waters I should be trolling in? I wasn't able to pickup a ything on my display and wondering if I should be heading into deeper waters??
Appreciate any advice!
go deep fish the top 80 ft. you'll catch bows. coho and juvenile kings. the big boys and girls are up the rivers. I like orange and UV spoons

you won't Mark your rigger balls if it's not angles back due to blowback. it may distort the hooks and the depth a bitbut you'll still see them and will see the balls aswell.

I have a 26 hydrasports walk around with twin 200 yams, and it's a hell of a boat. heavy due to the kevlar reinforced hull but solid and does well.

alewife scales have some UV reflective properties, that's good enough for me. match the hatch. I do very well with UV products.

That's the best way to do it. Be careful holding it up on the lip grip I've read it may damage them. (Not sure if it's true or not)

I have black and chrome. I use black most often. Chrome definitely brings em into the spread but sometimes attracts them more than the baits resulting in alot of streakers. I fish the black sharks 90% of the time and chrome 10% when I can't get a bite.

Cisco great customer support and best track product. Better machined edges and I like bolts for the end caps. I replaced them with security screws so no one can steal my holders by sliding them out of the tracks.
