Best value for line counter reels
I'm looking to upgrade my line counter reels from Okuma Magna's. Can anyone weight in on what is the best value? I'll probably start with my wire rigs. I know Shimano Tekota is everyone's favorite but at $185 a pop its out of my price range. I'm thinking under $100 a piece.
Thanks
Justin

Does anyone have any Big Jon Downriggers that don't work? I need a couple pieces and parts (not motors).

Which do you prefer or have better results? Cheater lines on the mono (just a loose swivel to 10 foot leader to a spoon) that goes to down rigger ball or separate set ups to the down rigger cable? I've tried both with very limited results. I have a smaller boat with 4 down riggers so its getting a little crowded back there.

Do you want manual downriggers?

I have two sets of Downriggers that I don't use:
2 Cannon Easy Troll, Dual Rod Holders and Swivel Bases $220
2 Riviera long arm, Rod Holder, these look like they are missing a couple of pins in the bases and one has a bent tip, neither should effect performance, Please see pictures $150
Would make a deal if someone wanted all four, PM me if interested.

Another solution would be make sure the weight stations stayed open after dark.

I feel the same way fishing from Braddock's...

This is a funny rule to me, first and foremost if someone wants to cheat they will find a way. What this rule does do though is basically knocks me and others out of the Derby. I work a regular job with regular hours so the only time the weigh in would be open is the weekends. So now I have to make the decision that over the next 10 days (checking the weather) this Saturday and Sunday are thunderstorms (so I'm out), the next Saturday and Sunday look a little windy coming from the North West (so I'll have to check back on Friday) however tonight, Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday all look really nice, however I'm going to have a hard time if I leave the dock at 6 to make it to Mitchell's by 7. This is really a shame because I was looking forward to using my new boat with a couple of buddies fishing competitively for the first time. So the moral of the story is, I'll be saving $120 and if I really wanted to cheat I would sign up, fish in the evening, keep the fish alive until morning and weight in on the way to work...

Hello what are the rules if I catch a fish and it is later than the weigh in station is open?

Planner Boards/ Browns
in Tackle and Techniques

What do you guys usually run off of your planner boards for Browns in April? My usually set up ins spoons on the Downriggers and stick baits on the boards, but I had almost zero results last year on the boards. Any suggestions?
