The USGS boat has been in olcott the last few days. Looks like it set up a field of bouys from 50' out to about 200' just west of the harbor. Does anyone have any info on what that may be for..?

Humminbird shipped a new unit to me overnight. It was on my doorstep the next day. That's unbelievable customer service. For that I'll always buy a bird. Used it once so far and with Yankee trollers settings it worked awesome. Need some more time to get the chartplotter figured out but can't beat the price of this thing. Need to get the time correct as it seems to be on central time zone. But super happy so far.

Humminbird customer service is top notch so far. Building me a new unit and sending it to me right away. They didn't have any ready to go. Just need to send defective one back when I get the new one. Thanks Humminbird !

Just installed this unit and it looks great. Went to set it up and one of the first buttons I pushed stuck in !! Two buttons on the screen are stuck in and will not pop back out. Calling humminbird in the morning. Hope their customer service is good.

Any suggestions on what I can use for a cover for the screen ..?

Got mine delivered yesterday. Planning on installing it this weekend. Can't Wait to use it. The screen looks awesome without even turning it on !!

I was told that the sonar would pick up noise from the downrigger power supply if the power wires are ran close together but still seperate leads to battery.

When I'm installing this unit do I need to worry about isolating it from the downrigger power cable?

Really appreciate that. Just saw the 7 and may go that route. Do I need the DI for trolling the lake..? My father and I ran charters out of Wilson back in the late 80's early 90's. I got older and he sold the boat. So I was regulated to the fall stream fishing. Just bought a small fishing boat and buying everything I can to get back out there. Crazy how much I missed it out there. Thanks again for the help !

Looking for review of the new Hummingbird Helix 5. Seems like a great price. Just starting to equip my boat to get back out on the O.anyone using it out there ? Any help would be appreciated.
