  1. They are fish comes with the territory. They are supposed to taste fishy. If you don’t like it eat chicken.
  2. The thing to remember about citrus cleaning products is they are inherently acidic so be sure to use a protectorant product after their usage. I have always used TC bore butter as a protectorant after cleaning. It makes loading easier and prevents rust from forming.
  3. I use a 20 gauge shotgun brush. Works fine.
  4. Lakers like any apex predator follows the food. I have caught lakers in tribs in both spring and fall. Usually in spring they follow smelt and alewives in to spawn. In fall they may be eating eggs or feeding on larvae. Many men fish their whole lives not realizing it is not the fish they seek.
  5. I have been fishing the finger lakes for 50 years and Lake Ontario ( mostly tribs) for 25 years. I look forward to sharing information and swapping fish stories with you all. I hope we can all learn something new from each other. My son and I purchase a 17 ft sea nymph boat last year and are just starting to learn the intricacies of down rigger fishing. Looking forward to interacting with you. Thanks for reading and good fishing to you all. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
