  1. Check out Cayuga Tribs for fall browns. Dec has pdf files of all public fish areas. Pan fishing is usually pretty good out of Dean's cove. Some times you'll get bass and perch. Sun fish mostly if gobies are not thick. Use a bobber if they are. Minnows will get perch. Tiaganock falls you can catch just about anything. I personally have never had any luck there. Drop shot works great with live or plastic bait. There is also Seneca lake access in Watkins. I don't know much about over there tho. There is also Sampson. You'll here stories about crazy fishing there but the fishing was slow there last year.

    Good luck out there

    Stupid phone keeps editting what I type. ..

  2. Can't seem to figure the wire diver out. Catch rate has gone down with dipseys since I switched from stealth braid to wire... tho, I can say the biggest ll I ever caught was on a wire dipsey... this is my 2nd year trolling. Just learning riggers now. I like the idea of knowing where my stuff is at but man are the clips I got a pain... uni-cannon clips... Only thing bass pro had when I went to meet the guy to buy my riggers. Should want to Pam and waited...

    West side was dead... can't believe it. Caught 8 really nice bows now nada. Very few marks. Most marks where 19.to 45 down. Riggers where at 45 55 moved one down to 75 then 110... dragging near bottom. Trying to take blow back into factor but I really just need to get a probe. Got to many other bills right now to blow more money on fishing.

  4. I picked one small how before dark... bought the size you showed in 50fow. Bottom come up fast there by the bluffs by Sheldrake. Didn't have my boating all opened yet... was cranking my 80 down either up as fast as possible. Thought the wire diver was dragging bottom.. nope small bow. After I got line a back down, turned north, some idiot comes out no where and follows me 30 to 50' behind me. Whole lake to fish.... Gotta drive on my lines... I had a few choice words at the dock I wanted to say but some people are not worth the frustration. Never moved a rod after the north troll.

  5. New generation...
    Money = entitlement.

    Its not just my generation either. Some guys my age are very respectful... I agree with what some else said... EVERYONE should take a boating course... Just because you were born on a certain date and grand fathered in so you don't need the course... Doesn't make you sea worthy... Guy charging at you would of known fishing vessels have the right of way... I took a course when I was 15 or so... Parents forced it on us... But I use to cruise the St. Lawrence... Can be very dangerous out there

  6.  The water is FULL of lunatics, no matter where you go.. i had something similar happen a few years back, several miles out in the open ocean.. I was in my 18 footer  fishing in a choppy sea, and a MORON in a gigantic yacht thought it would be great fun to bear down on me at about 40 knots no other boats for miles, and  make a hard turn a few yards from our stern leaving us sideways with  green water coming over the stern  in a giant  6 foot high wake. Only by a miracle  from God did we even survive it.. Its an older early 70's starcraft with no level floatation.. Hope that person had a good laugh.. he nearly killed us...

     So yeah, the water is fill of sub moron "boaters" these days, no matter where you go.. thankfully its the months between Memorial and Labor days that these idiots are most prevalent,,  I have an unrestricted CC permit, and sadly, I feel the need to carry out on the water and  at the ramps these days for my own safety.. I am getting older, slower and am no longer physically capable of running or defending myself with my fists...  The water or even the boat  ramps seems to so often bring out the worst in   people that  most likely have issues to begin with..
     Sad part is,  this dangerous behavior is  often carried out by  people with large, powerful ,expensive boats, that must be  a success in life to be able to afford  the boats they run.. Never could understand that part of the equation.. Usually people with money have more intellect...... right???....... bob

    Money doesn't buy brains, just stuff... Just like a smart phone. Its only as smart as the user...

  7. There use to be another dock so people could get off at it to go to the bath room or get vechiles... Idk why they took it down... Was only a temp dock, maybe 10 years ago or more now... Gotta say... Town politicians are lacking common sense just like the state and feds...

    I would say painting "in" on one side and "out" on the other would be a good idea but some people can't seem to notice the sign that says " Pay parking fee " on the way to the dock, or the kiosk right next to the stairs... Maybe if they paint it in lifted letters so they trip over it a bit they might be able to notice [emoji23]

  8. I would put lead on boards... To many times I have had fish run across the chute and get the lead cores. Or I have ran LC on long rods off my side and dipsey straight down. Now I have down riggers so dipsey off the sides and DR down the chute. One goes off the side by my kicker.

    Eventually I will be adding Amish Outfitter boards and planer mast for cores. Never can get anyone to ride with me so its a one man show usually. Might add I only fish the Finger Lakes. Mastering my gear before learning the big pond

    Thanks for the info. After starter problems this morning I gave it a try. Ended up with a small lake and this 6lbs LL just north of halfway to Sheldrake. Pulled lines and called it a night after that. Almost jumped in the boat servral times... Wouldn't go in the net... But almost jumped in the boat [emoji23]
