  1. Can't find any info on anything past 1985. Still 50:1 after 1990? Don't want mess it up after paying for it to be fixed. Forgot to ask what mixture was when I picked up and they were closed when I got home... Tyia Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. All the ones I have had success with usually hook themselves. Most get off at the boat with crazy flipping they do at the surface. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I also seen the pile of motors but they also said the older ones get put further back on the list till winter because they are harder to work on. Mines old but 1970 something like a lot of the ones that were on the floor. Either way I'm crazy busy but be nice to sneak out a couple days before ice season. 4. Ok well I don't mind them being behind... Just bugs me no qoute yet. Someone else said they are trust worthy just wanna make sure Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Trust worthy or not? They qouted me two weeks for carb kit and lower seals... 4 weeks later no call back... No work done on motor... They didn't know where it was and still haven't given me a price on the work to be done... As long as they been in business according to website, giving me a qoute should be no big deal right? 6. Keep moving. When your on a good active school... Gobies tend to stay away. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Kendia camp ground just north of Sampson has 4 cabins with power. They can be hard to get a hold of sometimes. Tell them Mike sent you Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app They also have camper hook ups and tent sites.
  8. Stopped in 45fow because seen a bunch archs on the FF... Saw a minnows rush the surface with a Pike behind it... Pike about slapped the transducer when I surfaced. Kinda got me excited... Over all I got 3 hits in 2.5 hrs. Couple follows. They grabbed the tail... No solid hits... Going to try again just before dark. Hopefully after both tournaments that are going on the traffic will calm down. Bass guys pretty polite this year. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Any reports for DeNs area... First time out in 6 weeks. Tyia Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. So I'm still waiting for a carb kit and fuel pump( didn't feel like doing the rebuild )... Played with the motor more. I got it to idle at lower rpms. Seems the bulb won't stay full of gas and cause the motor to die out. As long as I give the primer bulb(inline) a small squeeze to make sure it stays hard it will idle. Take it this is still the carb? I'm using a Walmart tank and Attwood fuel line... Seems like I had this issue towards the end of my old kicker. Also can't set the tank on the floor or blub goes empty... Thought there might be a leak in the lines? Tyia. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Hank, makes sense now why they had fuel pump pressure gague in vidoe. Thanks for tip. I probably will download the manual Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Maybe it's a vacuum leak. There is a zip tie missing from the line to carb. Also the hose clamp I have on gas fitting sucks... Just made with little light.i have the gas tank above the motor so that garvitg could feed it but eventually it stalls out from lack of fuel... Order a new pump from Roy's either way. 2 screws to replace it and $80 something isn't to bad... Get the pump kit while I am at it Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. They had the gas fitting yesterday. Probably will have to order... Another week of work [emoji106][emoji23] Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. So yeah that's what I did this morning. Fired up. Died out when fuel ran out in the bowl. Fuel pump I assume... Any idea where to get one near Waterloo or Ithaca on a Sunday? Moore's is closed. Barret do Johnson's? Really like to try it out before back to work tomorrow... [emoji31] Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Ended up getting it to fire. Didn't start. Took the fuel line off from the carb and pulled it over to see if carb was getting fuel without pumping it in by the prime bulb... No fuel. Squeeze... Fuel... Thinking fuel pump? Where can I order parts? Kickers are pretty new to me. But look simple. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Ok ty. Getting fuel. Plugs are wet. Going to try brand new ones tomorrow also. Be neat to get it running for the fall run. Been perchin' since last fall. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Picked up a used one potentially. Won't start obviously. Got fuel to carb. Got spark. About to check cylinder compression but that feels fine... Anything else I should check? Tyia Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I know it's my speed. Looking into a 2015 6hp. Might look used but I haven't seen any. Besides if I buy brand new it should last 10+ years. I can feel the tick tick tick but I'm using a little electric tiller and can't get enough speed. I was just messing around the first day. Must been a feeding frenzy. Keeping the rock snot off the lure seems to be the problem now but they seem to bite it even covered in green goop. Either way it was fun. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Think I need a gas kicker before I get more gear. Last few times out I couldnt get the right feel. Probably couldn't go fast enough with the current or something. First night out I went out with a north wind that died down. Feel was perfect. Last few times after that it didn't seem to have the action or feel. Still caught some. 20. I have two setups. Hand held extension cord feel which works nice and one mounted on a trip pod but it's a pain to hold it down and crank... I was surprised just the hand extension cord feel worked better. Was easy to wrap the slack up and then start cranking on the handle on the side. Jason is on my friends list so I will contact him this week. My last kickers was a 4 up Evinrude 4win. Moved me around nice even in the chop but I think the shaft was to short. How do in know what shaft length I need? I seen a 2015 brand new at a dealer for around $720+ tax. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Will do. Short day today Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. No leader. that's how I was shown. I was told it was a great lakes spoon? Has a spade on it? Heavy spoon with a fixed hook. My app won't show me messages. Going to try and load it in browser Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. When we were doing it with the rod we were doing the action by hand. When one was on the guy giving action would hold the line tight while the rod man took up any slack. I guess a victrola would be the way to go since I fish alone 99% of the time. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Never used one. The rod setup my buddy uses, he said the hard part is getting them to stay on when you switch from hand to pole. Rod setup had only 300'. How much copper is on the Vic your selling Fishy? Please me info with shipping thanks. Sent from my Moto E (4) using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I went out with a buddy and he showed me the right way, the right feel. I got it down for sure. Maybe there was slack but I just held tension usually till they stop their ential head shake. Then started hauling them in. 0 for 7 this morning. All but 2 felt like solid fish. Definitely fun but I need a rod. The rod is only $238. I didn't check to see how much copper was on it tho. All fish were active between 20 and 35 feet today. Nothing out deeper. Just got tired of the waves picking up. Couple days out the west coming up. I'll give it a shot then.
