Broken at least 4 in the last few years using 10 to 13 lb weights. I use Scotty weight snubbers to help with the erratic bounce. Before the Scotty’s I’d cringe when the weight came up bouncing. In full disclosure my Cannons are mounted on gimbal mounts which I slide into my rod holders so don’t know if that has an impact but there’s no bounce of the rigger and mount.

Brand new to the forum and new to Ontario Lake fishing. Have a 22.5 Grady While Tournament and just bought a place on Port Bay. Have fished Oneida and Black Lake but never Ontario so deep water has me baffled where to start. GW is powered by a 225 E-Tech and just had Arney's put on a 15 HP kicker last winter. No downriggers yet but looking to add some type where I can take on and off without drilling into the boat. Any advice of how to start on Ontario is much appreciated.
