  1. No problems here, and I bounce bottom for Lakers with mine regularly. They track perfectly after two years of bouncing. The fin is thick aluminum. I have seen guys bend them on purpose to make them directional, but it's not easy to bend. I think he sells them pre-bent if you want directional weights.

  2. Here is a pic of one of my bikinibottom weights and my custom foam holder I made. This color, I believe, was called gator, but he makes several other colors.

Do a search for the author bikinibottom and look for his classifieds thread. He has prices and pictures.

  3. I fish tournaments on Lake Michigan. I have used both sharks and bikini-sharks and will stick with my bikini-sharks. The bikinis have facets on them too, if that's what you believe is catching your fish. I have 14 pounders and 16 pounders, and will be buying an 18 this year with the money I have saved...

  4. I don't buy into the hype they tell you on their website as far as being an attractor, but they do track great and have minimal blowback. There is a member on here, Bikinibottom, that makes his own version of a shark weight that looks and performs just as well as the sharks I have fished with for less $$.

  5. Those are some great observations guys. What you are saying makes a lot of sense. I don't run a chute rod and always try to set my inline board drags as loose as I can without slippage which makes it easier to detect a strike in the waves. How do you guys set your board rod drags?

  6. This looks like one of those older boats that have been babied and well maintained her whole life that are rare finds. I found one in 2017 with my '92 Grady White Gulfstream and couldn't be happier.

I'm sure this boat will make someone just as happy as I am with mine and good luck with your sale!

It's a nice unit. The speed probe has been great for me, but I'm still used to/and love my Moor SubTroll. I run them in tandem to get used to the SmartTroll. I primarily use the SmartTroll on my divers. Knowing their depths has really put a few extra fish in the box for us. If you are interested in a SmarfTroll you can use my code (HAJECKIST) to save 20%.

My only concern with people purchasing SmarTroll's is people who's boat's are a wiring nightmare, or have a soft transom. Both of these will affect the performance of the SmartTroll. If you have any specific questions about the unit feel free to ask.

I've heard smart troll has great customer service as well. The owner actually travelled to Kenosha Wisconsin to help an angler I talk to on a local fishing website dial his transducer in on his Alumaweld boat.

I've been wanting to install one on my Grady but have been hoping they would have another sale like they had a couple years ago. Would I be able to use that savings code as well?

As for the Earl's questions, I prefer the cable signal systems over the transducer systems because of the fact that you get quicker readings. I used to have a subtroll, which I loved until my probe broke off. I switched to a Cannon Speed n Temp which had to be altered to get better readings and they stopped making years ago. I have fished with the Depth Raider many times and it's a great system that I will probably buy when my Cannon dies. I plan on buying a Smart Troll to use along with my cable system so I can have the best of both worlds like Yankee Troller does.
