X2Dipsey rod should be stiffer than a downrigger rod.

Depth raider probe, looks like wheel is chewed up. And I see it is crimped, wonder how long that sat on bottom.

1.8-2 is maybe 1.5 at ball on my Depth raider depending on current. The other day I had to be going 3.2-3.5 to get my baits 2.0-2.3

Fleas usually aren't super thick where I fish, quick snap of tip sends them flying. I never had break-offs from fish just faulty equip, like cracked eye inserts. I'm all about the lightest drag possible.

Or point the rod tip where you want it to go. With all boards, many people try to fight the board. The board is putting the tension on the fish so having your rod tip up is useless. Point it at the water where you want the board to go, get it close, lift take off, FIsh On!!

They will run right against to within a foot of your hull . I never tie the backs, I run mine off my front cleats and they are straight out from my divers, say 2/3-3/4 back. Never in the way. Best way to measure is wait till you are on the water.

Drift socks are not trolling bags. A drift sock will last maybe a year, mist are made of nylon and are made to slow you down DRIFTING. Trolling bags are made from much beefier materials. Yes you should have a pair. Can't imagine even trying to troll alone with one out.

Just got Coleman Extreme 6 Marine 120. Stainless hinges, no clasps to break, ruler and Drink holders x4. 68.88 on Walmart.com. believe it was $72 with tax, free shipping . I like much better than my Igloo 150 that I had to replace all hinges and closures because of inferior junk on a heavy cooler.

Get the Single Axis for Dipseys, no loosening. Not as much movement as doubles, but for Dipseys they are awesome.

Totally going to depend on how much you let out. Lead core is fat with much more resistance. You can use 19 strand in place of lead core if you want and you can put inline on it without damage.

You got it Joe, my pops was a logger for 40+ yrs. Took chain out of package for his saw and grab the file, would say "ain't even close to sharp enough" The saw is supposed to do the work not you.I still sharpen brand new hooks. Makes a big difference! Rapala makes one that's course on one side and fine on the other. Each point gets ran over each.
Kinda same theory with hooks, one many people overlook.

If the fish isn't hooked up by the time you get that rod in your hand, a big tug sure isn't going to help. I use Chamberlain releases so can crank my rods way down, sure helps with hookups, .
