  1. In my opinion, yes. But only if you stand hunt in cold weather often. I’ve hunted the fanatic bibs, jacket, and vest since 2015 and love it for stand sits below 30 degrees or so. Any warmer than that, or if moving, too hot. The vest is a really great mid-weather outer layer with a lot of the features of the jacket.

Thanks! I do several 5am in and 5pm out climber stand hunts so packability and warmth matters.

  2. How much stretch do you need? I have a pair if Outdoor Researchs that I wear in deep snow or rain that I really like. No problem being tight, but they dont stretch at all. Cinch with a bucket around the boot sole and a web strap around the calf

Funny cause that is the pair I bought last year. Can’t get all the velcro stuck after two socks, high boot, long johns and insulated bibs. they are functional, but not “just right”.

  3. Started wearing gaiters to reduce wear on my pants and to deal with the hiking up I get on a long sit. Any recommendations on a pair that stretch well over boots? Most pairs seem super tight around calf/boot area.

  4. Nice!!

I went out Sunday too and it was too windy for my 19', so I stayed in I-Bay.  Got a nice Northern and a 27" Eye and 7 hours of fun.  (well that and a few Drum just to trash my tackle).  I am glad i didnt go out deep for the salmon hunt as I got to learn in shallow water that my 1yr old Cannon has failed -

I got out to 150’ at 5:30 am in my 19’ and got the yips as my whole boat fit nicely into the bottom of each wave trough!

  5. On my way out very early Friday there was a large grass “clump” that caught my eye just beyond markers and to the east. It was gone when I returned. Looked like a duck blind...bird watchers?
