What does this have to do with trapping?
Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario UnitedI would bet if it were proved that there was a population the antis would get trapping shut down. Someone might inadvertently catch one. Any excuse they can use.

Good way to get all trapping banned.

Saw the one off Oswago form first hand. No Good! No more fishing for me that day.

An Amish outfitter snubber may be long enough to keep the weight in the water when hooking it up. Use the retro ease as well. Bad things happen when the weight comes out of the water. Good luck!

How long of a run is it? I have an 18ft tracker and I'm a little nervous to get too far out.
Looking at the map I figured around 5 miles to get to 150 ft of water. Sound right?
I use to fish Mexico in an 18' Sport Fisherman. Five miles is a long way in anything over 2. A few times we motored out slowly only to turn around when we tried to fish. As others have said, there are ports with deep water closer in. Just remember it may be nice when venturing out but weather can come in fast. Good luck, Matt

One downside of using new Sea Flee is it won’t hold in a Scotty pinch type release because it is so slick. I have to switch back over to black releases on my riggers when I spool some on. Blood Run even recommends taking 10 wraps before setting in the black to prevent slippage. Everything is a trade off. No matter the species though, they don’t like it.
Try using bands with the blacks. Make 2 loops run the band thru and half hitch the band. Hasn't slipped on us yet but we don't run sea flee. Good luck!

I have weights from bikini bottom and troutman. I believe that the bikini's have less blow back but that could be all in my head. The bikini's were more money but he custom painted them for me. Both men were equally easy to deal with and I recommend them both. Good luck!

Theres a good class of fish north of Sampson and also I've heard of a decent class of silvers near lodi in 150 fow.
Right now:
145 mag divers 2.5 spin dr fly
Gambler deaths traps on riggers 77 and 87

Wondering what you think the benefit of that set up is?

Never heard of the Ellis house, if I'm near Mexico I always try to stop at Brandy's. Good food, reasonable prices and alot of it! I never remember being offered a wine list though.

Always go by down speed if you have a probe in the water. Try fishing the lead a little deeper then you think, in my experience it doesn't sink as much as expected. Good luck!
Baitfish ID?

I would have to agree that the top fish is not a smelt. Wrong profile, here in NH we use small smelt for bait in the spring. Not a smelt, kinda looks like a emerald. Though emeralds have a green sheen to them. Good luck! Matt
