  1. Some significant cracking of the cockpit floor and the non skid has been worn off. Structurally sound but want to make it stay that way. Was thinking about painting over it with the tuffcoat nonskid but wasn't sure if I should sand then seal all the cracks with a skim coat of fiberglass resin or if the tuff coat would be durable enough to fill in the micro cracks. Tuffcoated the floor in my 22sylvan but I had replaced the whole floor with 3/4 marine grade plywood first and it's held up amazing. Any thoughts?

  2. Also something to digest is if you are running a spread and things are firing and you change an item in the spread and now they stopped firing maybe the item you took out of water was attracting them to bite the others. Put item you took out back down n maybe start firing again. 1 fish an HR on one rod is still better than no fish on 12 rods

  3. Depends on storage and use. If they were used in the rain alot or if left in the extreme heat I'd say better to change it out. Mono rots and degrades and also has extreme memory after awhile. If kept in right conditions I'd expect a couple of seasons would be ok. Shelf life of mono on the factory spool can be 2-5 years I've read. Another thing would be to use an empty reel and load the power pro on that to get to backing and check a section of mono by using a scale and pull to see what break strength is. If compromised replace. If ok retie the power pro and rewind it back on off the other reel. Power pro will last quite a bit longer than the mono. Bulk 2700 yard spools or 1lb spools of mono big game are around 35$.

  4. I also ran several bayrats for many hours and never took a fish out of Oswego. Better off with the jr. Thundersticks and the smithwicks on the East end of the lake I guess. Also a big thing to consider is leader lbs, material, and length. Swivels attached to spoons will give a completely different lure action than say just a duolock snap. As well as snaps and swivels on stickbaits.

  5. Ryan get ahold of me I'll steer you in the right direction. Got a few good tips from my charter buddies and was catching as many and sometimes more than the charters I was out with on those days. I ended buying 20 of a particular stick bait and ran everything in the water that same bait on some given days couldn't keep them in the water on 10 different trips.

  6. Lead core lengths. I have two 2 colors, 2- 5 colors and a 10.(had two but used it to make the two 5's). Is it worth having 1 colors or 7 colors? Figured I could segment the 5 colors to make 1 colors and the 10 to make a 7. Have a spare okuma classic xt 300l series but doesn't fit much more than a 3-5 color with sufficient backing so was debating it for a 1 color. Converting my convector 45s to 200 weighted steel with 17 strand wire backing. Have an empty cv55l I was gonna put an Atommik 300 copper on because I have no coppers. Any suggestions? I also have 2 convector 30 wire dipsy rods, 4 Magda pros with 20lb big game, two diawa accudepth plus 47lcs with 15lb and two diawa accudepth plus 27lc with 15lb big game. My 15lbs and the 2-5 colors leads are my brown trout rods and my 20lbs and 10colors are my salmon rods. Also have two other cheaper reels with 20lb that I use for lakers and stripers on the hudson. Having so many setups and options makes my brain hurt! Wanna cover as many bases as possible!

  7. Any temp break where you see a quick rise in temp until 54 degrees then they will be wherever 54 degrees meets bottom which usually isn't until May. 70-90 ft usually in summer...cod is essentially where the spooked fish integrate with the unspooked. Essentially twice the volume of fish than what's directly under you because they scatter from boat noise. Also watch bill saiff outdoors YouTube. He says alot of good info.

  8. Buy multiples of each color especially after you find your bite n what color works for you. Look up cone of disturbance as well find out how far off side of your boat the fish like it. Every boat and every day is different

  9. West end it's bayrats in short shallow model. Target water temp changes and color changes. Long leads off planers like 120-150ft back. Spoons like Michigan stinger in Sodus pt buckeye and chartreuse and greens. Can't beat gold perch either. Cold water slow like 1.7-2.2 up to 3.4 in tad warmer stuff. Leader down with 8-15lb fluorocarbon with 15-20ln mainline. Sticks And spoons are the ticket. Check out Yankee trollers posts for more info on bayrats. Water depths as tight to shore as possible out to 20-25ft but find temp n color n run your gear find the bite and key on it.

  10. I have a brand new Penn 321LH GT2 that I spooled up and then realized I can not reel a pole left handed. This is a left handed reel and was 99.00$ brand new still has sticker on reel base. Nice handle smooth reel, just to uncoordinated to reel it in haha. Looking to get $60.00 for it plus shipping or willing to meet at Utica bass pro shop. Line has been stripped off it already. Willing to trade possibly too. imageproxy.php?img=&key=7e961de8267f286aimageproxy.php?img=&key=7e961de8267f286a

I went 1/3 all day similar area. 8lb coho landed. 30 mins before pickup decided to change probe rigger out and when ball and probe got to top of water the wire snapped above the probe and she rests at 99ft in front of nuke plant. Lost this week a mtn dew Spinnie, UV 190 x3, pig pen on chrome Michigan stinger, hammertime Spinnie, probe and ball. Lost 15 fish three trips. Pukeee.
