What have you been running? What temps have you been seeing. Where have you tried? I caught a few last year trolling the 100' line with gambler rigs for Lakers and up high for silvers.
You are talking canandaiga lake right

There's a few here with alot of knowledge on canandaiga have helped me get on fish the few times I fished it.

There is a marina in Woodville right down the rod on the west side....Smith boys if I remember right.
Boat launch is right in Woodville few miles up the lake from Naples.
Good luck

Where are you staying. There's a few marinas around the lake that may have weekly or nightly slips.

Hopefully someone else chimes in but I believe many run it behind the bigger paddles with longer leader length. And from the very very limited times I have used it it didn't seem to past very long but again not much experience with it. Idk about buffalo are bait shop maybe call Cabela's or Google bait shops around where your staying and give them a call. If I remember right many shops sell out of it when the bite is on

For sure..I started last year and it was fantastic fishing. Seemed like you could do no wrong. I was completly shocked yesterday. We will give it another shot tomorrow and see if I can put some of the great info I have gotten to use. Will report back. Plan on fishing it a bunch this year.Apparently year 2018 and few years after will be the best in a long time for walleye on Erie. Perfect timing for a first visite.

We crushed them late last summer out of Dunkirk in deeper water most fish are keepersWow, I will try Erie for the first time in august. Will Dunkirk area still a good place to go that time of year? What was the average size of those walleye?

Damn. I may launch there Sunday am almost did today but opted not to. I went from Dunkirk to Van Buren all over all depths dipsy boards riggers coppers steels lead cores flat line with snap weight couldn't move anything. Covered from 15' to 100' tried from 2.5 to 1.5 speed nothing at all I was stumped....wow man thats shocking. we fished Barcelona going east towards dunkirk. 30-60fow and slayed them on 2-3-5 color lead core, long lines, and riggers up high.

Well took off work today to hit erie with a guy from work and his son hoping to kill the eyes....welllll that didn't go as planned I couldn't buy a walleye bite tried everything just couldn't move a rod and marked tons of fish. So around 1130 decided to go deep for Lakers as I had my trusty gambler rigs with me. Only landed one but it was a good one. As usual I could count on gambler rigs to save me from a skunk. 34" 18#

I do believe kids count too for limit and rod count too right?Trouthunter is correct. At just after 19 minutes you can clearly see too many rods in the water for 2 men. 3 rods per licensed fisherman is max allowed.

First time we have been there very very cool place. Lots of life. Guys on the pier at the end said we're catching sheephead pretty steady. Was a really nice sized catfish washed up on shore too along with a few bass that would have been bigger than anything I've caught. Good sized snapper in the middle of road by one of the swamps too. Kids also enjoyed the baby geese and ducksNice. Love Presque Isle.

That's enough for me to try it... Cool infoBigger spoon on a shorter lead attracts them. They come in to look and, if they decide not to eat, as they’re sliding back down in the water column the smaller spoon comes by and they can’t pass it up.
Had a couple of days last year where the mup rig went one after another and always that bottom spoon. Can’t guarantee it was working as described but it was working and that’s good enough.

Good luck I was there last year the first week of July and we were on the lakers. Almost as many as you wanted to catch. We fished powerplant north both shores on the drop offs. Man that was a fun trip. Met a few awesome guys while there who showed me the ropes too.I will be there for the 1st time in the 1st week in July as well, maybe we can work together to try to figure this fishery out.
Also, I have been checking this site out for a few weeks and I am really impressed with the willingness of the regulars to share information. Not something you see everyday and it is greatly appreciated, I have my notebook full of information that I was able to get off these forums. Thanks to all!

That's where the bite seems to be right now also I hope to figure out how to fish it as onoville is only 25-30 min from my driveway.Years ago myself and two buds took my Lund down to camp and fish. We had a little cabin in Willow bay on the PA side. We strictly trolled back and forth on the PA - NY line and we also had to get Indian licenses which was cheap and no big deal. We caught an absolute ton of fish but most were 15-21 inches. They were great eaters. When we went down that body of water held the NY and the Pennsylvania state records. I think it still holds the PA record. Sounds like you had a great time

Well I just got home from a 4 day camping trip to the alleghany resivovior (kinzua). Few buddies our family's(22 of us lol) we took my boat and a bunch of yaks. Was a fantastic time. If your looking for overnight camping trip with your boat with potential to catch some walleye musky pike and all the carp you could imagine I would consider kinzua. We launched wolf run marina (excellent marina) and camped in pine Grove (2 miles from dock).
Fished every morning 5am to 8am.....nothing lol I was told the trolling bite would be hard to get but figured at least I'd get to get away for some relaxation and enjoy the view of mountians and bald eagles.
Fishing from shore was way more productive carp crappie bass all we're caught.
I didn't take a bunch of pics as there was no cell service so phone stayed in tent. But will add them as people start to post them on Facebook.
Not much of a fishing post more of a cool family trip with the boat.
Huge shout out to Mr Hank for taking care of me in the spring really makes me have confidence in my rig.

Gas mileage
in This Old Boat
Posted
Interesting.
I have tried to assume my boats as I really have no idea. But figured gets
2-3 mpg at 25mph realistically (hope I'm wrong lol) 25'sportctaft
But that would mean your/my 1 trip out at 8 miles would burn roughly 4 gallons of gas at 6 trips thru 2.5 days be 24 gallons roughly meaning we burn 50+ gallons trolling for 20-30 hours....so say 2 gph burn at idle
Hopefully other have their imput too
