He everyone I am looking at making a trip to the big lake for Browns this spring. I am looking at last week of April first week of May in the Pulaski area. Given the current conditions out there now does that seem reasonable? Not looking for crystal ball predictions just trying to harness the hive mind. I am also looking for suggestions for lodging. Not looking for anything fancy just 2 beds and the ability to cook some food.
I appreciate any advice! Thanks! -

Bow mount trolling motor with autopilot. I have a terova with autopilot it's the bomb for during alone. I also use it when fishing with others. Set a course and you can do whatever in the back. I have the remote so easy to adjust the course. You can find used ones for $1000.

I have many questions lol.
Do you only use the troller when you are rigging?
How many volt system?
Does it last for a full day fishing?
What kind of boat are you running it on?
Thrust rating?
Thanks for the info.

I have a 18' Smokercraft Phantom. It is all aluminum with a 90 Honda on it. The issue I am having is keeping the bow into the wind. If the wind is pushing 10 or above it is a b!tch to fish out of alone. In the time it takes to put a rigger down it can just about do a 180. I have tried drift bags and they helped a little but they require me to troll above idle and there is that typical flat spot in the throttle. I was thinking about adding a trolling motor to the bow but not sure it would do the trick (and it would be an expensive test). Anyone have any ideas for simple things I could try? Thanks.

Selling it as a lot or pieces? Price?
Edit: I see the price now

We are looking to travel out and fish in Mexico the first week of June. Based on the bite so far will the Brown fishing be down by then?

They clip to the rod line 5 to 10 ft above downrigger release. Hook the rigger rod and bottom spoon in release with max 30 ft lead back from ball. Then drop rigger ball down 5 to 10 ft. Attach leader and upper spoon to rod line. Drop ball to desired depth.
Ahh ok. I assume they will pull down to the bottom lure when you get a fish on?

How are these rigged?

What is everyone's go to for preserving bait fish?
I bought some smelts from a retailer last year that were so well done that they were usable after sitting in the boat for 3 months.

I have the app on my ipad, the only down side is I had to buy a gps receiver that sends to my ipad using the ipad Bluetooth. I use it on my boat and on my buggy (RZR) it works really well and is portable.
Yeah I was thinking that might be an issue. What receiver did you get? Is it weatherproof?

So this year I was going to spring for the the navionics chip to go in my Humminbird. In my research I found that there is an app as well which got me to thinking. I could add a tablet and add the app and potentially get the same thing with the benefit of portability. Does anyone run this and how does it compare to the chip for the FF? Obviously with no sonar connection you cant get real time adjustment but otherwise is it essentially the same?

From what I understand, the reason Sutton spoons are so effective is because the finish is NOT stainless steel, but SILVER. Am I correct?
I would believe it. I have a silver plated speedy shiner that out fishes the stainless equivalent 4:1.

I wish they had an online presence. I need some 44s but living in Maine makes it a bit more than a day trip lol.
