  17. We have 200' of weighted steel with 19 strand wire backing. The steel drops the same rate as copper with the wire backing. The 19 strand wire is clipped to our planer board releases anywhere from the end of the weighted steel (200') to whatever desired length out. There are a bunch of videos on youtube as well. It's really foolproof stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Look at the torpedo weighted steel as well. I had a tough time giving up our 450 copper, but after running the weighted steel for a year it's going on all of my long line rods! There's nothing out there that you can get to depths of a 200-600 copper on one reel. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. A 5 part series including the ports of Bald Eagle Creek, Oak Orchard, and Sandy Creek! Dates: June 16 July 7 July 14 August 11 and the final tournament/ banquet/ awards on Aug 25 INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENTS $100 per boat each date *July 7 will be a special BETS @ BAC (Boaters Against Cancer) $120 per boat and $20 will be donated to BAC. 3 fish box (1 lake trout). You must be in line by 3:00PM OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP There is an additional 1 time $50 entry per boat for the overall championship series if you chose to enter. You do not need to be in the overall to fish the individual events. The pot and payouts will be determined after the July 14th entry deadline. Right now we have $1400 in the pot before anyone has even entered! This pot will continue to grow as we have overall entries. **overall entries must be paid by July 14th to be eligible. You cannot use points for the overall standings until you are paid in** The entire pool will be paid to the top 20% overall Boats of the series. The point structure for the championship will be by placement per tournament, not weight. The point total of your best 3 placements out of the 5 tournaments will determine the winner. In the event of a points tie, total weight of your top 3 finishes will determine the winner. Points structure for the overall: 1st- 25 2nd- 20 3rd- 16 4th- 13 5th- 10 6th- 8 7th- 5 8th- 4 9th- 2 10th- 1 Check out the Facebook page for event info and rules (I will update this soon) A huge reason why we have $1400 in the overall championship pot before we start is due to our great sponsors! 20. You can use the 19 strand off of boards in clips it will not hurt the line. We have run our set ups off boards all year without 1 issue. I would definitely put at least up to 500' of 19 strand on the reel just so you have a 200-700 foot long line. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Why not load up the 19 strand on the back half of the reel? That way you can use 200-300-400 etc... we have 1000' of 19 strand and 200 weighted steel so we can run whatever we want really from a 200' to a 700' depending on where the fish are. The idea of the weighted steel IMO is to be able to reach multiple depths with 1 reel (and of course have very user friendly wire)! Btw we run it on tekota 800's Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Another way to help with the LC error is to stop at a park, pull the steel out and paint it every 50 or 100'. Thanks and good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Make sure your 19 strand footage is "actual" footage. Once that large diameter switches to the smaller 19 strand your LC will be off (one way or another). We measured the 19 strand off of our reel and 250' actual line off of our reel (after the weighted steel was off) showed much more shown on the LC. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Back it with the 19 strand wire you'll be good to go. No need for a 400! We run a 200' with 19 strand and it's comparable IMO to our 450 copper when an actual 450' is off the spool. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
