  1. Hi All, I will be heading out this afternoon with my nine year old. Anything doing inside of 120’? I am thinking of targeting browns. Any advice appreciated! Kurt Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Well said. I think timing from hookup to release might be as or more important as anything else. Probably one reason why the little ones go right down after release. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. As far as releasing fish, I am no expert but try a few simple things. The small ones never come in the boat and the hook is removed while they are in the net over the side of the boat. The short fight keeps them lively enough to go right back. The larger ones are handled as little as possible, usually just for a quick pic at most. Then a boga type grip on a short lead for a few minutes over the side of the boat while resetting lines. They get released from the grip when they look ready. No idea what success rate is but i have yet to see one go belly up at least when in sight. This style of fishing is certainly a tough setting to use catch and release for sure. I do keep one occasionally for the grill .
  4. They aren't too bad. Certainly better than they were a few weeks ago in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Made a run out at 5:00pm after work. Went 5 for 5, 3 kings, 2 steelhead. Fished 100'-200' fow. Rigger rod down 65' was the ticket with bare DW spoon on a 25' lead. All fish released to see another day. Largest king was 15lb. Largest steelie was 7lb. Had fun on a week night! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  9. Clear and concise, thanks! There is a fish hawk in my future, it's just a big nut to crack at the price they are running. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Hi All, Looking for any insight into targeting summer browns or anything else that may be hanging inshore. Own a 16' deep v and not comfortable running out past 120' or so even in good weather. I don't at the moment have any way to check temp other than at the surface. Will be coming out of the kendall area. Looking for any general advice anyone can shed. Thanks!
