  1. When i fish with rapalas i have always tied on direct to lure. The main reason for this is if you use an improved clinch knot you are able to adjust the knot slightly up and down to change the wobble depending on speed. You do not need much of an adjustment but by slightly angling the knot down you will get more wobble and flash of the rapala. Depending on your speed you can adjust to have better performance. Next time you are out try along side of boat, Place the knot straight and watch the action then slightly slide the knot downward and look at it again. The important part of this is making sure you have a good knot tied and it is tight so when you adjust it will stay in place. You will see much more flash of the rapala than a simple back to back motion.

Thank you for that information. I will try that this weekend.

  2. Thanks to everyone for the respectful feedback and I do agree that the cost of catching fish is more expensive than buying it. We don’t really know who has touched the fish that we buy. However, I am a father of 2 boys and I invest a lot of TIME with them in the outdoors away from electronics and video games. The expense of not spending time with them has negative consequences on them becoming good respectful young men. I feel there are far more effective actions that could be implemented than shutting down boat launch’s that good people and families use to combat this pandemic.

  3. All boat launches are closed as well as marinas and golf courses

There are many launches with no barricades. It is really unfortunate that one of the fundamentals of survival that inherently creates social distancing is infringed upon by the government. There are many dedicated fishermen who need this fishery to feed their families. It’s hard to imagine that launching a boat with a fishing rod is influencing COVID-19.

  4. Yes Rich  (bikinibottom) made it and it was a great idea. It would work fine for the torpedos as well. It is lined with a towel type material as well so no noise. Simple yet elegant solution to storage in my opinion. Much smaller than a crate etc. and stores at the side near the gunwale under the passenger side captain seat.

That is a brilliant idea and very secure.

  5. Good evening, I am preparing a 1775 Lund and trying to be as organized as possible. I fish alone with my twin boys and organization is key. I have torpedo weights and Cannon balls. What is the best way to store these when not being used? Also, is there a simple box to use for misc. tools like scissors, needle nose pliers and various tools to use on the boat.
