  1. I bought a couple Off Shore SST pro mag side planers and ran them on Sunday. Hooked one onto my 200 copper and it did great. Hooked the other to my 400 copper and it would barely plane at all.

It was a little rough (~3ftrs max) but I thought these particular boards were able to handle 400's with ease!

Anybody else have this issue and do you use a different board for 400+ coppers?

  2. Not to get too far off topic but I've been thinking of getting a Fish Hawk for next season but after seeing posts like this and talking with other fishermen who have trouble with their units I am not sure its worth the money. I understand that they have excellent customer service but when I buy a product I just want it to do what its supposed to without all the headaches. Are there any other good options on the market or is Fish Hawk pretty much as good as it gets?

  3. I had the handle grip come off in my hand on both of my manual downriggers. The first time I just ordered the replacement. The second time I called customer service and complained. I had to argue with the representative to have them send me a replacement and they told me it would be 2 weeks for it to arrive. I had to cover the expense to have it shipped out quickly so I could use it on an upcoming trip.

I was not pleased. I am likely going to purchase electric riggers over the winter and they will probably not be Cannons based on my experience.

Nice work! Heard from a buddy the bite was no where to be found on Sunday after a decent outing the day before as well. Good to see a king over here on the east end. Was it in tight with the browns?

The salmon was mixed in with the browns in about 10ft of water. We think it was a Coho.

  5. Had a good bite Saturday morning until around noon. Stingers with chartreuse patterns was our best bait. Took a burger break and came back out a couple hours later. The lake was laying down and so was the bite. Managed one more and then quit for the day.

Sunday morning dawned with steel grey skies and light drizzle, in other words it looked really fishy! We washed lures for a few hours without moving a rod and headed home. Wonder where they went?

  6. Saw a cottage for sale on the classifieds on Catfish Creek anybody know about the water depth on this creek as I have 2 straight IBs  thanx

Fished out of there this weekend. 21.5 trophy didn’t have any issues and there were some larger boats going through.
Call the Wally who runs a charter boat there and Im sure he could be more specific.

  7. Thanks Hachimo. We struck out on browns then headed out to 100 fow in front of the plant. Picked up a couple lakers but couldnt find any after about noon. Took a break them went back out around 4 but the bugs drove us off the lake.
    Try again in the morning

  8. Take a look at Tracker. I have a V18 Targa I bought in new in 2014. Came with a Verado 150. It fishes great in regular sized lakes (Lake George) but you do have to pick your days on some bigger water that is more prone to blowing up in the wind (Ontario, Champlain). Wide beam (101") and plenty of storage but it gets cramped with more than three guys. Top speed about 40mph. I bought rod holders, rigger mounts and bimini as well...all in about 36K. I even managed to convince my wife that it ia a family boat because it came with a screw in pole for water skiing! That hasn't been used yet

  9. Reading through the forum I notice a lot of scattered information on the launches we all use. Driving three hours to find out you can not launch your boat really sucks so I thought this could be a place for people to keep track of launch conditions.

I have friends fishing out of Mexico tomorrow so I can update that location then. Good luck to all this season and thanks for the updates in advance.
