4 river setup is in play. I’m planning to run mag divers on 1 setting (deep) and #1 divers on 3 setting. I use 30 lb torpedo 7-strand wire so I should be in good shape. Thanks for the advice and the YouTube videos have been very helpful on getting going in the west.

That will get you running and not have any issues that's what I run and cant say weve had any problems. I've ran 4 divers 2 riggers and 2 board lines also. Just have to make sure your boards get out a ways and make slow wide turns.

  2. Weve been able to fish lake erie pretty much all winter when the wind allows. Its definitely been a very windy winter with not much freezing temperature.

On presidents day we fished about 30 miles west of cleveland and caught plenty of walleye and water temp was 37 degrees. That water color is pretty normal for this time of year. Green color isnt bad it's the mud color that effects fishing.

  3. The dog thing doesn’t have to get crazy. I shot an awful lot of birds in my life over a well trained dog with no collars. Yes if your ultra competitive they give you an advantage. I hunted Saturday with my dog with a bell and my buddy with 2 setters with alphas. We had our 6 birds by 9:00am. My vizsla pointed 4 out of the 6 less than 30 yards from us. His dogs were way out. Yeah it’s cool I guess when your handset tells you your dogs on point but in reality training is way more important. If you need to confirm your dog is hunting and not laying down you got a problem there. It’s like anything, technology is just making up for our shortcomings . Growing up I never had an issue shooting deer with a bow, and I smelled like stale beer and cigarettes from all the old timers at camp playing cards all night. Now we think we need special clothes and sprays and electronics. Really we just need the ability to sit still, be quiet, read the sign and shoot straight.

I agree but for coondogs that will go over a mile looking for a coon when there not moving a tracking collar is a must have. Or a dog that decides it wants to chase deer it sure is alot easier to get them back.
