I have a good 50 years going to TI every fall for pike with the boys. Pike has waned with the onset of zebra mussels and the last 2 year been poor. This year did not catch a pike b/t 5 of us and 3 solid days of casting, trolling or sitting on bait. Did have one strike and a follow but nothing else. We caught some awesome smallmouths but a couple of days. 3-5 pounds. Any ideas on where they are at? Spoke to a local and he blamed it on Cormorants eating all the small fish as he has not seem much in the way of small fish in Eel Bay and surrounding areas.

Out at 7ish. Little worry about forecast lightning. None came phew. Ran out to 100ft and set up to troll deeper. Graph pretty quiet and sone duck weed around. Went 4 for 7or 8. Few knock off but a little snotty out so who knows. Two beautiful matures 20# maybe didn't measure. 7# teenager and a skipper. Fished 40 to 60 ft over 120 to 140. Carbon 14 and Chilly Willy.-

Headed out about 7:30. Ran to 100 nothing. 150 same. 200 not marking a dam thing but duck weed all over. Might as well runs some lines. Green:froggers Std singers. 10 minutes got 4# Steelie 30 over 238. No mark few more releases couple were on for a moment. Then when taking a pee drag lit up. SON OF PUP! Putmy wiener away and grab the other pole. Bigger fish. Took like 10min or more but netted it. Frogger 32 over 230. Nice morning. Off about 11am.

Still out 3 hours and nothing screen was blank out to 140ft. Not much inside. Nice day except for rod action. Let ya know if anything else turns up. Running 50 for now.

Just myself today. Didn't even power up. Headed east and trolling between 15 and 20 feet. Few boats around. 1/4 mile east first brown hit 3#or so. Downriggers down 10 to 15ft. 50ft or more back. All on a Michigan Standard Stinger Helmut. Orange with pink spots. 8 browns boated. One skipper. Thanks to couple guys on the dock helping me get tied up and loaded. South in the bay made it interesting. Brought three home, grilled and eaten already. -

I agree is has been very disappointing. I hope the DEC isn't thinking lakers will be better for Rochester. -
