Chowder explained it well in your original post for bar fishing mag lips. Three-way is a good way to stir bottom longlining. I think it produced bigger than average lakers, but I’m no pro on lakers. I’ve never drifted shiners out there, but we drift emeralds in the river on a three way about 12” dropper to a pencil lead and Octopus through the nose. Gunna have to play with leads to your baits. Maybe someone who has a better memory than me can help.

Slow roll three swivels with a dropper weight and a flatfish/qwikfish for lakers out there.

Looks good, nice catch! Care to say what kind of leader your using?

Bigeye chub or lake chub, maybe. Where in Maine and what habitat?

Marina prices will be fun.

Correct me if I am wrong on DSR, just curious:
That section of Salmon River is a Federal Navigable water. Normally, you are not afforded under water rights on these waters. Barclay argued the language of a deed that existed before the United States, a French one I believe. Is that correct?

That’s a trap.

There was a guy around here wondering about browns. Sounds real fun.

Buddy Got one loss one on tipups. Turned on late after dark when wind died. I had everything but fish finder put away and finally marked a fish. Hurriedly unpacked a Rod and sent a rattle bait down and I broke my line on the hook set. Way too short a leader, couldn’t take the shock, huge mistake. First three hours in the brutal wind without a mark zapped us and I had to leave after snapping off. Pure dejection. Love the Golden Crescent though, be back tomorrow night.

Better than bouncing off your head.

Friday was a good pressure day and Saturday was when the temp dropped off and skies went bluebird here at least. I’d guess weather locked them down.

That’s the most precise ice report I’ve ever read. Hats off. I’m gunna shop a nice caliper right now. Good luck this season.
Stony Creek
in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Posted
Started at 9am today out of Stony Creek. The best water color and temp wise was right in front of creek. 44-46 degrees. Wasted time heading straight to mouth of Sandy Pond. Thick mud, debris everywhere, and temp was 41. Headed back to Stony and fished out front and landed six browns and a nice walleye by 1 and left. Bombers, bay rats and Michigan stingers.
